Today is the 28th anniversary of the death of the talent and legend that was Laurie Cunnigham. What a great player he was and how lucky I feel to have been able to see him play, to light up the hawthorns and the blue and white stripes. A hero forever. Gone but never forgotten. Still in our thoughts.

I remember getting on the plane to fly back to Birmingham from Corfu and back then you always got a paper. I was distraught I couldn't believe it. We didn't have sky tv or anything so I had two weeks of sun, sea, sex and drink and was oblivious to the shocking news.
Luckily I too saw him play many times. RIP The Black Pearl. A true Baggies Legend.
