WBA Transfer Window - Final Day
Surprise surprise. West Brom are reported to have "moved on" from their interest in Fabian Delph.

Mainly as talks did not really get started - but might have something to do with his current £90k a week salary?

I doubt we ever showed any real interest and as usual it was internet and press speculation.

Got to be honest and say that I'd be happy to see Delph at the Hawthorns, previous allegiances not withstanding. He strikes me as a pretty dynamic player whose first instinct is "forward". On another rumour...probably only paper speculation....we are being linked again with Negredo. Please, please no!

Negredo has better movement and far superior ball control and hold up play than Rondon and he's a far more intelligent footballer.....I would like to see him at The Albion. I think If Pulis had the balls to play them up front together with Chadli behind them in a central role, Phillips and say McClean out wide we could see Goals.

BUT WHAT AM I THINKING??????? That would actually mean us attacking, PULIS won't go for that....
Message to PULIS...........If you're gonna go then go now so we can crack on and get someone in who can attract the right sort of players we need to get us back to 'The Albion Way'

Alvaro 'The Beast' Negredo is definitely the Pulis type. Experienced, strong and very good in the air. Personally I've been a fan for years, great all round striker.

Okay, he'll be 32 at the start of the season, isn't the player he was at Sevilla and City and isn't the youthful injection we need. BUT we clearly need a couple of strikers (having only Rondon and HRK was criminal and we're lucky neither suffered injury) and if we signed him in addition to a young, pacy striker, I'd be happy.

The fact he chipped in with goals for a Middlesborough side who made us look expansive shows he still has something to offer for a year or two.

I see Negredo as a replacement for Rondon, who I expect to be sold to China (or elsewhere) to free up funds. Given that Negredo will probably be a freebie or close, this should give us a few quid to spend on another striker and a decent midfielder, hopefully.

Latest updates on supposed targets
Nearly all off them we have ended interest in !!!! Rolleyes

Albion have moved on from Manchester City star Fabian Delph,

The Baggies are keen to replace Darren Fletcher after the skipper left for Stoke City last week, and so they looked into the possibility of signing the former Villa man.

The 27-year-old England international endured a frustrating season under Pep Guardiola.

He spent the first half of it injured and subsequently struggled to force his way into the team after that.

He is likely to move on this summer after failing to get into any of Guardiola’s last seven squads, but the Baggies are now looking elsewhere after talks failed to get off the ground.

Delph is currently on £90,000-a-week at City, which would have made him Albion’s highest earner but is just about within reach for the Baggies this summer.

However, with the new TV deal coming into play, agents are asking for increasingly large salaries and Albion have more pressing matters to deal with this summer.

The board would rather splash the cash on a striker, with just two senior forwards currently at the club, and head coach Tony Pulis is also prioritizing signing a left-back and a centre-back.

Arsenal are snapping up former Albion target Sead Kolasinac from Schalke on a free transfer, which shunts Keiran Gibbs further down the pecking order.

Although the 27-year-old is on Albion’s radar, they have other priorities at left-back.

Arsenal want £15m for Gibbs, who is also interesting Newcastle, which is more than Albion paid for Nacer Chadli, their record-signing.

The Baggies are still hoping they can agree a deal with Leeds United’s new regime for Charlie Taylor in order to remove the uncertainty of a tribunal. Albion were also keen on Mamadou Sakho, who impressed on loan at Crystal Palace towards the end of last season, but have decided to look elsewhere after Liverpool slapped a £30m price-tag on the centre-back.

Barnsley’s 26-year-old captain Marc Roberts has been linked with a move to The Hawthorns, but it’s understood Hull City's Sam Clucas is not an Albion target, as reported elsewhere.

John Terry closing in on a £100,000 a week transfer to AFC Bournemouth. Don't think we would match that for a fifty year old, are Bournemouth trying to take our oldest squad in the world tag, Terry, Defoe will they sign many more golden oldies.
