By the way, what happened over David Brooks from Sheff Utd? I wasn't in favour of developing another loanee, but he's an age-group international and this is one of those occasions that NO DEAL isn't better than a dodgy deal .............

George Hurst is the star of course. Surely it is time for Wednesday to play him? I struggle with this idea that a player is good enough for England U-20 and not good enough to play in the Championship. If a decent side had had Tammy Abraham up front this last season Newcastle Brighton and Huddersfield would all have had something to think about.

Thats a question that splits our fan base with regard to Hirst. Some want him in the first team now, others want him to go out on loan and some want him to stay in the development squad. He is just 18 years old and looks very young, so he is about a year behind Abraham. If he stays with us I would expect him to make the bench in some games but with the 4 strikers we have ahead of him I am still not convinced he will see much playing time yet. I would prefer to see him go out on loan this coming season and let him physically develop as well as technically.
