To be fair to Willie Rennie (and no, I don't like him either), there is a difference. He is not wanting a second EU Reerendum, he wants a referendum on the final deal between the UK and the EU. I'm sure that, if Scotland gains independence, he will propose that Scottish voters have the chance to vote on the final divorce settlement before the split. Whistle

The thing that interests me is that Nicola seems to have already conceded defeat to the Tories. In my opinion, she should be urging all English non-Tory voters to vote for the second-placed party in Tory marginal seats. Does she want to get rid of the Tories or not? Dodgy Or is she willing to put up with another 5 years of Tory rule, so that she can guarantee support from her committed separatist voters and perhaps gain votes from disgruntled supporters of other parties?

The SNP are irrelevant in this election and she (and the PM) knows it. The SNP can only manage a swing of one seat away from the Tories and could just as easily lose one, so the only chance of defeating the Tories is for the English to do their stuff and vote Labour or Lib Dem.

Like hibeejim21, I rather like the Labour manifesto in general. The Lib Dems are woolly-headed as usual and the Tories are ........, well, just Tories. The best way to improve our lot is to spend money on capital investment in our infrastructure and that means raise extra money through taxes - not immediately vote-worthy but it does make sense in the long run. Austerity does not work with top-heavy management structures. Get the money through to the men on the ground and get building from the bottom up.

Yeah,i'm quite tempted to vote labour this time out. Although i'm still strongly in favour of independence i'm not a great fan of my current SNP MP and whats in the labour manifesto fits me well politically. Not that it will matter as the SNP have a whopping majority. I have a feeling the tories will take a number of seats this time out though as the unionist and orange vote moves across to the tories.

That social care robbery that the tories are going to carry out on their own supporters is pretty scandalous,Asset stripping the elderly for the "crime" of getting ill in their old age, forget the fact these people worked hard and paid their National Insurance and Council Tax for decades in order to fund the NHS and social care, their houses are somehow low-hanging fruit for the Tories. It's indefensible considering they're gifting the Corporations with a £70 billion tax break.

I'll be interested to see the polls when that one sinks in.

How kind of the Tories to leave £100k of their estate untouched Jim eh Rolleyes Agreed that Nicola is conceding to the inevitable Tory win and I see nowt wrong with that!!! Scotland's interests and those of the SNP come first and foremost and I hope most voting Scots are listening to what's being said eg we want representation at the Brexit talks but we're being 'shat on' now and it won't change after a Tory win. Hence strong representation in parliament and continually exposing how we are being treated disrespectfully by a UK govt that doesn't want to fully release the power strings on Scotland - nowt changed in that respect, a historical fact! I could go on re the unionist disrespect on Trident and keeping it on Scottish soil + lotsa other issues that are opposite to the opinion and needs of the majority of the Scottish population. The unhealthy unionist theme of queen and country and 'better together' is one that has personally 'pissed me off' for donkey years well before the SNP finally arrived on the Scottish political scene and I'm not a natural SNP backer either but I still see them as being a far more genuine political option for Scotland than any of these shameless unionist c#### + backing media who never fail to amaze me with some of their shameless, hypocritical comments - as disingenuous as it gets and so 'out of touch' with Scottish opinion - I call it 'playing political games' from a very weak position instead of practising serious politics and the individuals who lead these unionist allied parties up here are so politically 'lightweight' it really 'beggars belief' how their rhetorical 'cheap talk' and innuendo never changes as the years roll by and they are eventually replaced by some other unionist stooge!!!!!

It truly is a scandalous policy, and just shows you how confident the tories are that they can be that up front about how they are going to xxxx us up.

It may well be that a number of that tory vote affected by this might just sit on their hands this time out at election time, which might mean a bit less of a landslide than first feared.

Heres hoping.

Did you watch that fiasco of a televised debate last night broadcast by the 'impartial' (??) bbc Jim??? The nurse who uses a food bank and blaming Sturgeon for it???? The whole lead up to this attack was absolutely ludicrous and so pro Tory in it's content - not worth watching by any vigilant Scottish voter and dwelling on devolved issues where the Tories and other unionist allies have no accountability while the SNP/Nicola are subjected to attacks/criticisms on issues that are not relevant to a UK general election!!! Thumb down Back to this 'offended nurse' - for starters and based on her salary that she quoted, she is not a nurse but a Hospital Assistant! The way it was set up reeks of suspicion that this woman was some kinda 'plant' who is clearly not an SNP supporter and it appears that her personal background, which some press sources have 'dug up', reveals a contrary picture of a less desolate woman than she portrayed in this debate!!! This is 'shades of 2014' all over again but a huge positive factor was the assured way that Nicola dealt with a contrived attack that I'm sure the SNP and it's senior members will be well primed to deal with when these instances arise. I'd love to know how many unionist allies there are on the bbc - I'd put money on Nick Eardsley being one with presenters like Sarah Smith not far behind either and I'm damn sure there will be others infecting their organisation, particularly down south, when it comes to influencing and broadcasting this kinda partial shit!!

Political plants are nothing new. The right wingers know how to use them thats for sure. Just watch question time !

Its all academic now though, after the tragic events in manchester campaigning will be off the menu and 'strong and stable',troops on the street and union jacks will be back to the fore. The tories will win by at least 10 points i reckon, and all at the point where may was beginning to look really vulnerable and labour were starting to make in-roads.

Aye! That's prob the way it will pan out. I can't bear watching any more of the British press/media still 'feasting like ghouls' on this human tragedy - listened to the usual platitudes and 'milking' of an absolutely tragic bombing incident - deja vu and nothing changes in that respect with the press 'thriving on it' hour after hour after.... and then more of the same the following day - sickening TBF!!
