Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread

Come on SCO, even I know that wasn't you playing all out attack. When you threw Rhodes and Winnall on your only shot came from Bannon. We huffed and puffed but couldn't blow the bloody doors off your double parked double decker. We stopped your counters for the most part though. When we did threaten to break through it was one cynical foul after another.

On to Wednesday at Wendies.

Just seen Jack Hunt after the game. Went to ask for his autograph. Tapped him on the shoulder.
He fell over holding his face.

As well as we did play and as well as we had control for long periods, the season old issue of not hitting the net is likely to come back and haunt us come full time on Wednesday evening. It was great to see Mooy, Kachunga and Hoggy right on it, even VLP put in a decent shift but without finding a goal or two we're going to have to be once again right up for it and at it if not even better for leg 2.

Clearly that was Wendys ploy not to concede and they will the more pleased of the 2 teams, the atmosphere was excellent, I'm sure our 2000 will give it a good effort too to help the lads along too. If we can play with that control early doors and make them open up in search of a goal, no sloppy defending & all that, we might just get some joy out wide to get behind them.

We avoided a late sting in the tail, expected Rhodes to come on, collect his £40k wages and find a later winner to put them in the box seat.

Will have a sky re-run a bit later this evening but without the highlights felt we did really well, proud of the showing and effort.

Just seen Pudil getting smashed in the face in the wall. Definitely hand ball. Came off the other lad's hand into Pudils face. Instead of free kick to us, the ball got kicked back to Coleman. Rubbish decision.

Reach handled it useless wanker !! and then you wanted handball for everything after Laugh

I mentioned on our thread that after both championship semis ending in a draw .zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz i think the better format would be a one off game at a neutral ground and thats that take youre chances or pens is it !!! the championship has so much at state now that it has become bigger than the FAcup if that were possible ? and off course we were going to do that today you dont want to xxxx the whole season up by going for it away in a 2 legged tie ? ask Brighton !

Not a bad idea that, imre. So long as it's not at Wembley. Thumb up

Where would you call neutral territory for a game like today? Brammall Lane? Bellend Road? Oakwell?

Can't see the powers that be going for anything less than the two legged money spinners really.
