There's an old saying - "Don't burn your bridges". If he fails next season he will be gone pdq as they will be expecting great things. Who knows, 10 games into the season with us and Portsmouth losing all 10, he could be on the train back.
Interesting that he has recommended Chris Turner as someone he could work with as Director of Football down there.

The man from Disney he say the manager has only won the bottom division twice. For all my money I want a top coach like the NFL, not the High School version .........

Result Paul Cook out of a job.

Success isn't bound to look the same to an American ...... is all I'm saying. If he became unexpectedly available would you want him back? A lot of people would be like Matt and jump at the chance. Me? Once you've shit in my pot there's no way I'm giving you another one.

Portsmouth are considering appointing a director of football next season, should Michael Eisner's proposed takeover of the club go through.

BBC Radio Solent reports Eisner has already informed manager Paul Cook of his interest in creating the role.

The former Walt Disney chief executive has made an offer to buy 100% of the League Two champions.

Cook is believed to want a firm input over any potential candidate to ensure minimal disruption to his set-up.

It's not a million miles from suggesting Paul Cook isn't good enough for a big club like Portsmouth is it?

Personally Dev I feel the same way. One chance salon not last chance. I thought Portsmouth were forever blowing their trumpet about being owned by the fans? It pisses me off greatly (the same in our case) when the money men bail out and the fans pick up the pieces leftover and make it workable again only for the money men to return waiving the old cheque book.

Hmmmm wonder if that is a good move.

I think he can get them back up, but will they keep him and let him have a go at the Championship? If you can win Division 2 I don't see why you can't win any division. He played at the top level very thoughtfully, so I don't see why he couldn't manage top players too.
