Worst experience at the Hawthorns!
#1
I am sure there are many matches we can remember that constitute "worst experience at the Hawthorns" Crewe,Red Star Belgrade,Woking, etc, but the one experience that sticks in my mind was that night game against Leeds a few years back when they wrecked the railings at the Smethwick!

Had my Dad with me that night and boy were we glad to get home!

Any others?

Millwall charging the length of the Rainbow paddock to get to the Brummie has to be a candidate.

Newcastle in the cup lost 3-0 Malcolm MacDomald hat-trick (???) then two of their supporters got into SRE and were battered. Horrible

My special treat from my ex was to be presented with match ball on pitch for my 40th, only problem was it was "Crewe". We were supposed to go to players lounge afterwards, we couldn't get close for all the protests. Dark days indeed.

I had a season ticket in the Rainbow in those days, close to the Woodman corner.Remember trying to count the number of Crewe supporters that were there that night and having a small chuckle at the lack of support! Boy,did they have the last laugh!

There was one time under Megson we played Wimbledon just as they were becoming MK Dons; their fans were boycotting in protest, and if there were half a dozen of them there that night I'd be surprised. We battered them for ninety minutes and they won it at the very end with a breakaway goal. It was just silence around the ground except for home fans groaning and a couple of Dons up the Smethwick End jumping up and down shouting. Bizarre and pretty depressing.

WBA 2-5 Plymouth (1993)
WBA 1-5 Crewe (1999)
Sheff UTD 6-0 WBA (2000)
Remember in the early 90s we played a glamour tie vs Chester i think we drew the game 1-1 but the game was played in thick fog terrible day that was

Not sure "see" is the right word in this context, Tom Laugh
