I can see why he's given the red - Payne reacts to their lads challenge and it's rash. Hence us not appealing.
Their second is offside but when seen in real speed it's a difficult one to call.
Wednesday were dire in the first half and we were still creating clear cut chances with 10 men. They're getting lucky more than most teams, eventually that will stop and they'll have to start actually playing well.
They've spent millions upon millions, before wages, and have accumulated a ridiculous squad. Massive plus for us that we seem much more together on the pitch and off it.

Well I consider myself a sensible Wednesday fan and still think the supposed foul was 6 of one, half a dozen of the other!! Also the team and bench we put out against you cost us about 10-12m with over half being on free transfers or through the academy, not sure that amounts to millions upon millions in this day and age!!!

Off the top of my head... Matias, McGugan, Hunt, Hooper, Forestieri, Abdi, Pudil, Reach, Jones, Winnall - all decent transfer fees - I'd say around £15m in fees there at least? That's a lot for this league, even given the amount of spending power some teams have. Then look at wages and you'll be shelling out more than the majority again... £35k a week for Fletcher and then Forestieri is apparently now on the same or more, then you have the likes Emanuelsen who can't even get in the squad who'd be our highest paid player...

It all adds up, and I'd say it definitely warrants the 'millions on millions' line. Big Grin Smartass

In the current Championship we sit in 10th place in terms of transfer fees paid, just above Forest and L**ds and below the likes of Derby and even Fulham!!! We also know that over the past few seasons we have been totally outspent by the likes of Boro, Burnley, Hull, Bournemouth and Watford, all of whom are now reaping the rewards of that spending in the PL. You make it sound like we are spending money like its going out of fashion yet over the past 5 years we have spend 25m in total, compared to Derby who have spent 47m and Fulham who have spent 56m. Sure that is more than you have spent (7m over the same period) but it hardly makes us the Chelsea of the Championship.

As regards wages, yes we have a few players who are on very good wages but again that is nothing out of the ordinary in the current championship. You guys are punching above your weight with regard to the money you have spent, and good luck to you in maintaining that, but if you want to compete consistently in the Championship now you will need to spend some money to build a team and you will have to pay good players the going rate. In 2014 our wage bill was actually less than yours, now I am sure it is considerably higher but so far that increase has seen progress by us as a club, to sustain that we will need to keep spending, as will every other club.
