Great thread Snoots. Anyone have any idea why we're playin 12:30 K.O? Are we worried about the fog as well? I think he'll play his first team today and then rotate heavily for Wigan. Perhaps play a more defensive lineup seeing how easily we got done on the counter attack last Time we played them. If we can get 6 points from this I'll start dreaming. UTT.

I don't know why it's kicking off at half twelve either. I assume Deano has a fancy dress party to go to tonight or summat.
Or police not wanting football fans mixing with new year revellers in the town centre afterwards.

Lucky to salvage a point methinx - thanx to Nakhi Wells [excellent free kick].
Wagner needs to remind the team that the objective of winning matches is attained by scoring more goals than your opponents. Possession football in midfield should be a means to an end (ie scoring) not an objective in itself.
Three things need addressing
i) vulnerability to quick break (even if its the ONLY one the opposition makes)
ii) need to identify how the team can convert possession into goal-scoring opportunities.
iii) need for a tall, strong, target man striker to offer alternatives up front.
Apart from Nahki, none of the rest seem to wish to take responsibility to be in the box and when they do get the ball in the box, either try and hit the electronic scoreboard or just pass backwards.

Aye, we're not doing to well against these bottom 3 dwellers this season. Parked the bus? Parked a whole bloody fleet of them. On to Wigan on Monday and their flying winger playing in front of another parked bus.

Palmer seems to get scared. Rajiv couldnt hit a barn door at times. Kachunga likes a back post poach but sometimes struggles with getting good attempts off elsewhere. Nahki at times looks like he couldnt score in an Amsterdam brothel and then payne wanted it all on his left and took the touch to get it there even when we were behind.
As for bunn. Separate para for him. What the chuff was that. 10k a week and that was what he produced. He looked like a lg2 player and thats doing a disservice to them. He couldnt trap a ball and his first touch bounced further than when he tried passing it. He had two shots one tame the other appalling. Is it because he's been injured? Because on that showing he can only be here because his dad is here. Maybe he should play under him a few weeks. People dont rate rajiv scanz ect but bunn today may have taken the mantle of worst player in the squad. With lolley back and rumoured strikers coming in, he could be out on his arse. Time for him to pull his finger out

frustrating games happen, the squad is a work in progress still but a long has been achieved in a very short space of time. games like this are good for keeping us grounded, i said at the beginning of the season , and i will keep saying it that a top ten finish will be a good finish and show considerable growth from where we have been the past few years
this is also the exact type of game we would have lost last year, the team deserves some credit for getting back into it , i agree we need to be more clinical in front of goal, but id rather be missing chances and scoring 1 or 2 than creating nowt and scoring none, the Wagner project is a long term affair and requires patience, days like this will happen.
let not forget this time last year we sat in 18th on 25 points and only got 51 points the whole season

I'd like to thank the club for moving the fixture forward to accommodate my commute back to Muddle England, I'm to blame
Not the greatest game, started brightly, failed to convert chances, their keeper mind did look solid.
2nd half we looked flat, changes didnt improve things, I thought VLP was crap and Palmer might welcome 40 mins sitting it out with Monday in mind. Once Deano got an early booking he was less effective.
We need a tall burly striker to if nothing else give us a genuine Plan B and threat, throwing Huddy and or Heff up front is desperation.
Superb free kick from Wells, great strike but awful defending minutes earlier to gift 6 fingered Rovers the chance to put it in the box to their own burly experienced striker. They might have nicked it after too with some desperate defending as we pushed on.
Disappointed today but overall a fantastic December 6 unbeaten, thrown us back into the mix and got us all thinking what might be come May.
Onto Wigan with hopefully 3000 followers getting behind the team , bit of added pressure now to push for 3 points there following today's scoreline
Happy New Year all, who knows where this season is taking us ?

their game plan was to slow the game down and frustrate. i still stick with some of the players seem scared when they get close to the oppositions goal, palmer is one of main culprits for this. i also think that some of our under contract players will be looking or heading towards the exit, bunn on the performances he has put in is one of them, lolley hopefully will replace him on the bench on monday. watching him today reminded me of when we had the likes of kamara playing on the wing, bunn was really woeful today, the players seemed reluctant to pass to him and for a passing side that should be a warning shot to him
and like sloppy says, happy new year young folks, hopefully see you on the other side!

Nowt wrong with Bunn. He's a good player. Inconsistent, but still a good player.
