Tidy
Even if, as the High Court says, he's a lying, thieving arse, should he keeps getting us three points and plays more entertaining footie, I won't be calling for his head.
Have the new Chinese owners promised him a £2m bonus (to pay off his debts) if we finish 6th place or higher ?   Wink

Any one ever thought that Pulis may have looked at what we had last year and thought..."schit, how the feck am I going to get points with this lot?"

Roll onto this year with some of his targets in place in Phillips (who he chased for nearly 2 years), Chadli, Nyom and McLean and we can already see the difference.

I'm no real Pulis fan but the guy deserved some time.

Btw. How much does Nyom NOT like Watford....dunno what went on there with him. He was a beast today.

Their fans were giving him stick during the match. Similar to McClean and Sunderland last year.

Ha ha, Kemar Roofe's just scored against the Villa! What a Saturday! Laugh

Question is Ska'd.......should we have let Roofe go?
He's been on fire since he left us for Oxford and then on to Leeds. That said, the gulf between the Chumpionship and the Prem may explain it.

This is only his first goal for Leeds, so I wouldn't get carried away yet. If he adds another fourteen between now and May and then twenty next season, then we can maybe start kicking ourselves.

Wow! Happy baggies on here. The hanging of Pulis suspended at least till we lose to the next piss poor team at the bottom. I've always said we need better quality players before we can judge pulis style. Hes a good manager Ive always said that the pundits rate him for a reason. Yes he's old school. Yes he beilieves in ard werk and defending first and formeost. But when youre a team like west brom and you havent got the money and name to attract the top footballers. Then you must play to your strengths and Pulis does that very well and now we've got morrison back and chadli phillips rondon finding their feet in this league and I have to say brunt like morrison is like having a new signing. were tough to break down and we look like we can shift very quickly through the gears on counter attacks with some quality and purpose.
Winning today was crucial though being 6th is great but theres still very little between 6th and 20th in terms of points but 20 points after 14 games halfway to safety already. Im happy with that Smile

Blimey, Watford looked a nasty niggly side, no wonder they've got more bookings than anyone else.

The only person to blame for the argy bargy at the end though was the ref, I'm all for it being a mans game and letting the game flow, but how many calls did he get wrong on both sides, their striker alongside Deeney was getting the same treatment as Rondon for most of the match yet the ref was waving play on all the time and in the end there were cynical sly fouls going on all over the pitch.

I didn't even think their bloke should have got a red, it happened right in front of me and although he reacted, it was push and shove on both sides. When you see Aguero's red on Luiz, that's what a red cards for.

What's that coming over the hill .... is it a monster, is it a monster.....

No it is renewed hope that we have turned the corner ....... oh no usually our rising hopes end up crashing on the rocks.

Regarding Pulis, I've felt for some time that we're in danger of becoming like West Ham fans did with Big Sam a couple of years back. Nothing he did for them was ever good enough. They got their wish, he got the boot, and now look at them. Shipped five at home today and the Taxpayers Stadium is half-empty.

Not that I'm absolving Pulis for some of the worse performances and results we've had, but I do wonder how it is that there's such a gulf between how our fans view him compared to Roy Hodgson; who, let's be honest, employed much the same approach to the majority of games. I suspect the major differences are simply that a) we have a negative history with Pulis due to his Stoke years, and b) Hodgson as a man comes across as a likeable, old-fashioned gent - the sort of bloke you're proud to have representing your club in the media - whereas Pulis, as this week's court verdict illustrated, just doesn't have that same honourable exterior.

How much you personally like someone really shouldn't matter in football management as long as they're getting the results (and ideally bringing the performances to match), and at the moment, with a good few pints in me, I think Pulis has earned some renewed faith from us. But I'm still not sure that the fanbase as a whole will ever really warm to him. And so the good work he's done here will probably only really sink in once he's gone, and someone far less competent is at the helm.
