Farage heading over for talks with trump. 2 well matched characters.
Apparently in Germany a lotta public opinion polls showed that only 4% of the voting public provided any support for Trump!! I suspect that percentage would've been higher in the UK but would certainly still be a strong anti Trump opinion. It still 'beggars belief' even after the few days since that astonishing result!

Not sure those figures really say anything. You have to remember that the bulk of Americans who voted for Trump are first and foremost Repuiblicans, who will vote for any Republican going against any Democrat. In Germany and the UK there is no attachment to the party he represented. Its really no different in the UK either, those comitted to a political party whether it be Labour, Conservative SNP etc will invariably vote for that party no matter who they put up. To me Farage is a career fascist, in the 1970s he would have been a skinhead in the National Front!!! Trump is more of an opportunist who knew what to say to invigorate an electorate, something Farage also did with Brexit but not to the same degre as Trump has. Also the one key difference is one believes he has some power whereas now after this week the other one actually does have all the power. I would even go as far to say that even though I do not like Trump, I would take him over Farage any day!!!
I wouldn't have either of them and I think the view re the anti Trump percentages misses the point that the shameless behaviour of morons like Trump and Farage is the fact that there is thankfully some kinda moral judgement and strong values held amongst many people in different countries throughout the world - long may that continue and I was never into the unhealthy single political party philosophy that has been suggested in your thread although I acknowledge it exists - my dad supported the party that my grand dad supported and I naturally support too dohhhhh!! A sad voter indeed esp when that voter can ignore the extreme views of their chosen political favourite - absolutely bizarre and unthinking of the consequences of such folly! Also nothing so far has convinced me that Trump is not a fascist or a bully and I base that judgement entirely on his previous 'form' well before his presidential campaign ever began. This man' s extreme values and horrible behaviour as an individual were well documented before he rubber stamped his fascist views and bullying with all the shit that he uttered in the months leading up to 8 Nov 2016.

The first UK politician to get to meet trump is a 'career fascist'
![]() ![]() Speaks volumes. Farage and trump have so much in common wealth aside. They are both horrible, twisted, friday night barroom bigot candidates. Loud, simplistic downright stupid solutions to deeply complex problems. What a boot in the kisser for cruella de villa. She must be sitting in downing street wondering WTF
Cruella already responding with lotsa compromise (compared with her previous criticisms of Trump the fascist) and mooting her impending 'great relationship' that she will have in future UK-USA relations - diplomatic but cringe worthy stuff - no values, no morality whatsoever but what's new with the shameless politicians that we have in our own divided country! Even Nicola's formal congratulatory letter has a touch of cringe/compromise attached to it but at least she has tried to follow Merkel's line in telling Trump - Well done and congrats BUT YOU'D BETTER BEHAVE YOURSELF!!
On a lighter note, here's a list of the top 20 secret organisations, some of which have a significant influence on governments and politicians worldwide. Note how many of them are based in the USA or have an influence in said country! http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/photos/20-...p#image=17

These appointments certainly do not correlate with the optimistic 'it prob won't happen' comments in SCO's 3rd para of thread #25! I call that wishful thinking and utterly naive!! It's already time for all pragmatic govts and others of a similar ilk to be on high alert to watch for the eventual signs that these right wing characters are indeed fascist extremists and it was never disguised in their pre-election activities, shenanigans that many of us have observed down the months!

These appointments have been widely predicted since the day after the election, so no real surprises there. What has definitely happened is a softening of the rhetoric surrounding some key thing he said he would do straight away. He has stated now that he will not replace Obamacare immediately nor in its entirety, he will not build a physical wall along the whole border, he will likely not be appointing a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary, he will not be altering the gay marriage laws as they stand and he will only be deporting known illegal criminals. All of these were central to the hysteria he created in his followers and all have now changed since he won. Now that is no guarantee that anything else will change, and I have little optimism of that or of his success, but it is a very small step in the right direction.

Aye very good. "a softening of rhetoric", basically like brexit he's got the right wing fuds onside and now him and his buddies will work them like sock puppets.
Trumps the kind of man who goes out of his way to post one picture of outrage from a protest when we've had months of pictures of racist, homophobic and sexist signs at Trump rallies yet he never got stressed at them at all? I don't care much about his softening of rhetoric,i can just see which way the scales are going to drop on people...and the genie is out the bottle now so it doesn't matter that he's backtracking on everything from gay marriage to Clinton on a daily basis depending what way the wind is blowing. He's made the world a more dangerous place to advance his own status, and that is unforgiveable. Trump to name his kids as unpaid national security advisers. This is apparently to get round Whitehouse nepotism rules. Wants them to have top secret clearance. http://nypost.com/2016/11/14/trump-wants...clearance/ |
