Definitely 5 players short. If we can't field a second string that's strong enough to see out a game against Cambridge it is further proof that players such as Sougou need to be shown the exit door.
It's nice to blood a few kids I'm happy to see it. However I'm fed up of seeing how thin our squad truly is. This season is going to be an uphill battle if we don't fatten up Defence & Midfield.
3 games in 6 days is never easy, even for teams boasting larger squads. Fletch injured in the first game an unlikely to feature on Saturday is an early red flag. Fortunately we have Hooper Joao or Dave to stop in for that position, but should Bannan, Hutch, Hunt or Pudil get a bad one, then what? There isn't close to the same quality from the bench for me.

CC has said he needs 3-4 more players and there is still 3 weeks let in the transfer window.
8 championship teams lost last night so it wasn't only us, we just didn't take our chances last night and 1-0 is always a precarious lead no matter who you are playing.

i dont think we will miss fletcher saturday as we need to park a bus in the middle of the park and i wouldnt play Hooper either and as we cant afford him stood up there just waiting for the flickons ! id give helan his chance in a 5 man midfield hoping for the counter attacks with pace ! and this would be his last feffing chance 45 minutes sunshinse or your off and sold and in comes buckley !!
cc definatley like most off us planned that result i dont think it could have gone anay better ? the rest of the championship teams lost so no big paper stories there and we rested an entire first team bar a few strikers who incedently needed that time on the pitch joao more than others ! the only sad thing is why this pot dog cup still carries on and some stupid poor mental fans wasted there money on the trip but id seen this result coming and thank god cc had this year well done cc another 8 mark for tactics once again the mans a feffing genius !

Absolutely, it's not too dis-heartening. Just disappointing in the manner which we lost that game. We don't need a congested season with the shape we're in.
The real cup & league should be our primary focus. It's going to be a long season for Villa & Newcastle as they're used to playing fewer league games per season. I think Norwich will be alright though.
At the rate we're going we'll be comprised of Watford & Villa players.
