I've ended my boycott of Baggies games, started when I refused to pay to watch the shit Pepe Mel was serving up.

Was a good day out, however, Big Vic ffs.... Doh
Berahino not smiling was a concern,
I really don't get the Samaras thing. He scares me even more now. My Gran moves faster than him and he demonstrated an inability to beat a conference defender. Rubbish.
Baird,  Doh

On the plus side, the Smethwick was in good voice. I hope that keeps up.

Samaras is good to pump the ball to and get him to hold it till support comes. Every now and then, he will be unplayable and destroy the opposition; just not often enough. You are correct though he aint quick.

Berahino will get worked out by TP and he will either sell him to release funds for players he wants or, he will tell him to cut the crap and decide who's side he is on. We've been here before remember that moody a***hol* Peter whatshisname??? I've actually truly forgotten that guys name right now. WTF is he at this point? I honestly have no idea what, where, who, he's playing for.
Now Berahino being caught drink driving (he can afford a limo and driver FFS) at 4am is a sure sign he's a p***head and thats something we do not need right now. Those days have gone for modern athletes. However since the TP appt he's scored the equaliser at WHU and banged 4 for fun today. (Perhaps he's set up his shop window?) He came on MOTD tonight and said the new gaffer has got everyone excited??? We will never know what truly goes on in their heads but what we need now is a confident team playing for each other and on todays evidence its a bit of a concern the way he is behaving and ultimately he will fall on his ass if he starts getting billy big boots at this stage of his career.

BTW tidy you're right Pepe Mel was the wrong guy for the job at the wrong time but the other concern was I really wasn't impressed with his past record. It seemed he had one success story amongst a lot of failures just like AI actually. Steve Clarke also didn't install confidence as he inherited the RH team but ultimately it was losing lukaku that screwed that up... 17 goals:-) I've said before I'm no expert but I played football as a kid for my school team and a local team if I'm honest I was bog average and I made the step up to non league football with Mile Oak, interestingly where Keith Downing was stationed around about the same time. The step up in training and fitness compared to school league was seriously tough and I realised it wasn't for me so I set off for London to be a rock star instead lol. Right I'm going to put the wba villa 1-0 game on now and dream again oh and just for the record my da and my bro are both villa fans ;-)

Samaras put a couple of cracking through balls through, including the best pass of the game for
Brunt's goal, which came after beating two players.

Thought his performance when coming on was a bright spark.

I watched him several times in the Champions League last season he's certainly no slouch. When he
gets up to speed, he should have a big part to play on the counter attack in Pulis' set up.

As for those saying Berahino should be sold... Are you kidding me?

We need goals to stay up and the lad is the only goalscorer we have. I'd be more than happy for him
to go in the summer - but it would be suicide to sell him in January (an inflated market where nobody
wants to lose their assets). If he does go to somewhere like Liverpool, it has to be with the condition
of him staying here on loan for the rest of the season.

Maybe it was out of respect to Gateshead ?
Who cares ? We won 7-0. Doesn't happen every week so chill and enjoy the moment.
Mind you, us old timers remember an 8-0 in the cup...just saying lol !

Maybe it was a planned team sulk in support of 'Easytime' Irvine ?

Berahino's lack of celebrations: no real further light shed on it despite this:

I reckon that would have involved the players lying down on the pitch and letting Gateshead walk all over them, followed by Irvine saying, 'Gateshead are a very good side.'
