Johnny is a great player, performed superb in a defensive team under waves of attacks, playing for an attacking team would have less to do and he deserves more than we can give him right now, sad but true, champions league, Europa league. If we can sell him for 35 million, bring in the two from spuds ...... sort out the Chadli issue, does he want to stay, does he want to go??????. If leave ... then sell for 25+ million ..... use the money for another CB and a playmaker .... for example Chambers from Aresnal, young and 20 mil and maybe Jota from Brentford 6 mil ?. Two players out, 60 mil four players in 56 mil. Not saying it's possible but if it were, would improve squad depth without compromising quality.

I know it's been said before on here, but I think we must all remember where we are in the pecking order. It's this, and the absurdity of the transfer window, that's the cause of little happening - not (I'm pretty sure) that we're not trying.
Players, and clubs, will always be waiting for the best fee, the best wages, the best club, before committing themselves, and it's about now (I'd imagine) that those left will start to look around seriously at clubs of our size.
I know there are clubs like us, and perhaps even smaller, who HAVE done deals, but are they gambling? Are they staking big money on players they HAVEN'T done this due diligence thing on?
Let's wait and see what comes in the last week. I really think it's too early (yup, I see the irony) to be too critical right now. Let's be critical this time next week, if we need to be

Drewks there's due diligence and there's being inept, penny pinching and stubborn. We were 8th going into the last game of the season so not unattractive in the way of kudos and the players I have listed above aren't a gamble. They have hit the ground running and have already made an impact at their new clubs.

My bet is 3 or 4 in on the last day. Hopefully they'll be match fit and we can continue on from our good start.

I've been reliably informed that it's all going to happen a week on Friday - a big, big day as it was described to me.
So lads, the Churchillean spirit must be shown, they won't let us down!

Will they?

Nah, BV - they're telling me that there will be a knock on effect of Spurs buying a very expensive CB yesterday.
