I so agree with Blue Baggie’s demand to play our own young players next season on the assumption we are still in the Championship and in reality, with the final and much reduced year of parachute payments, I don’t think we’ll have much of a choice. I hope we’ll see a very different team next year; that may sound daft as we’re second in the league but I think we’ve flattered to deceive. All talk of Ivan Toney and other such strikers joining us will end, we’ll be back to sub standard loans like Robinson or past its like Austin. On that basis, play our own

The most important matches of the season has seen us wanting in determination and desire.

You've also mentioned on here that the forwards were sub-standard last night, however no one has mentioned Johnstone allowing both goals by not being positive - as that didn't help the team either.

So how many on here could see us surviving in the Prem with this team anywayHuh

I agree, Baggiebob, Johnstone was poor last night and, whilst making some outstanding reflex saves, does not seem to inspire confidence in the defence in the way that Foster did - admittedly a hard act to follow. My son and I were discussing your second point last night - if we do go up, how many of the current squad would be good enough. In all honesty, we struggled to name above four as I recall and one of those will be going back to West Ham

The camera now needs to be pointed directly at Bilic now. We have him the praise when he came. Now he has to take the criticism. Sadly he doesn't have the sense to change anything. Very much a nice guy but in the Darren Moore school. We need a b'std as a manager and one on the pitch would be a good idea. Preferably one with a whip.

How many of the current squad will "Turn up" for the extra 2 matches they now have to play in, instead of being on the beach. DD Huh Huh

Do you think they are bothered. Most of them are on borrowed time. I won't be expected them to bust a gut. They are a bunch of overpaid gutless morons who should be shown the door. They tried and didn't just fail they gave up. WBA don't want those types. I'd rather be playing in the conference with the kids.

I'm not sure that all this criticism is justified. On the evidence of last night, maybe so, but on the evidence of the season as a whole?
Last night was very, very poor with only Ajayi, in my opinion, showing any 'fire in his belly'; Diangana and Pereira played well in patches but apart from Townsend and Sawyers who were shocking, the rest were, at best, average.
I still think SB is a very good fit for the club though. Maybe he does make a few mistakes but don't we all? With hindsight I'm sure he'd change a few things.....

We got carried away with our early season form. Why I don't know. We had sent Gayle back and sold JRod and replaced them with 2 strikers who were never going to get goals. We know HRK was not going to get goals.. Bilic had a chance at Xmas to A bring a goal scorer in and B add some bite/fire/passion in midfield and defence. But he didn't. So our our form from then on has reflected on what we are. Obviously we all hoped for better and that's probably why we are disappointed. But with another massive transfer surplus and remaining on or near the top of the league we could say it was a job well done. I for one think a beast in midfield and a striker who knew where the net was we would be going up as champions.
But apart from actually getting promotion it's been a fairly successful season. As hard as it is to actually say it's not been all bad.

Criticism justified on last nights performance but thought they played reasonably well against Blackburn & Fulham.
I for one didn’t expect Brentford to pick up maximum points after lockdown, but credit where it is due.
One thing, there still is a chance of promotion, albeit through the play offs, but if you look back to last summer, quite a few on here were predicting a long hard season with relegation a possibility. To still have a chance of going up is a lot more than some expected.
Doesn’t excuse last nights lame performance though.
