I do like this new AI thing on Google. It allows me to read what has been said at the press conference without having to listen to Lee Grant. I asked the question what news came from today's press conference and within seconds, up came this answer.....
Quote:Huddersfield Town held a press conference today (Monday, December 1, 2025) with manager Lee Grant and forward Marcus Harness ahead of their EFL Trophy match against Lincoln City.
Key news and updates from the press conference include:
Injury Update: Lee Grant confirmed that the squad came through the weekend match "unscathed" and that they have a "fit and available" squad to choose from for the Lincoln trip, with no new injury concerns.
Match Preview: The team is focused on the upcoming Vertu Trophy (EFL Trophy) match against Lincoln City on Tuesday, December 2. Grant emphasized the desire to progress in the competition and use it as an opportunity to give players minutes and build momentum.
Harness's Role: Forward Marcus Harness spoke about his recent transition to a more central, deeper midfield role and how he is enjoying contributing to the team's system from that position.
Performance Review: Grant expressed pride in the team's character and response in their recent 3-3 draw against AFC Wimbledon, but also frustration at not securing all three points after controlling much of the game.
New Sporting Director: The club recently appointed Chris Markham as the new sporting director. Grant commented he is "excited" and "relieved" to have Markham in place, as it will help distribute some of the workload.
The club is looking to use the Trophy match to "kick on" and improve their league form, with a focus on consistency and high performance.
If by chance, you prefer listening to his annoying voice, here's the Match Preview on YouTube, with Marcus Harness....

2 defeats in the next 2 games and I don’t think we will have to listen to Grant again.

From the HTAFC website.....
Quote:Huddersfield Town Manager Lee Grant has named nine changes to his starting side for this evening’s Vertu Trophy Round of 32 tie away against Lincoln City at the LNER Stadium; Tuesday 2 December 2025, 7pm kick-off.
Following the home Sky Bet League One draw with AFC Wimbledon at the weekend, just two players continue in the starting line-up tonight as Manager Lee Grant has made nine changes for this knockout Vertu Trophy tie in Lincolnshire.
Lasse Sorensen and Cameron Ashia retain their places, but Town are otherwise refreshed in every other position. Goalkeeper Lee Nicholls returns between the sticks for the first time in five matches in all competitions tonight, with Murray Wallace joined by Joe Low and Seán Roughan in defensive positions.
Across midfield, there’s a welcome return for David Kasumu from the start after being an unused substitute at the weekend, with Marcus Harness and Ben Wiles operating around him, with the latter wearing the armband for Town tonight - the fourth time he has done so this season. Up front, Alfie May will be hoping to add to his goal from the weekend alongside Joe Taylor, who returns to the LNER Stadium where he previously enjoyed a successful loan spell.
On the bench tonight, the Terriers have goalkeeper Owen Goodman in reserve, with fellow weekend starters Ruben Roosken, Radinio Balker, Dion Charles, Leo Castledine and Bojan Radulović all available too. As he has done many times this season, U21 midfielder Dan Vost is also on first team duty from the bench, with fellow Young Terrier Cameron Ashia starting a second consecutive senior game.
As was the case at the weekend, Town remain without seven players tonight through injury as Marcus McGuane (groin), Herbie Kane (groin), Jack Whatmough (calf), Will Alves (foot), Zépiqueno Redmond (knee), Mickel Miller (hamstring) and Antony Evans (knee) remain unavailable. Having featured at the weekend, Club captain Ryan Ledson is rested this evening, with Lynden Gooch and Josh Feeney also sitting out this evening.

Never hurry a Murray. It's been a long time since his last Town goal.
Murray Wallace last scored for Huddersfield Town in a League Cup match against Charlton Athletic on August 25, 2015.
His last league goal for the club was during the 2014-2015 season.
Now if Grant drops Nicholls again after that excellent performance, he needs shooiting.

He got away with one dodgy pass out from the back but it was far enough out for the defence and himself to deal with. Otherwise head and shoulders over Goodman's recent performances.
