I think he should at least smile and thank the person that assisted the goal.
I also think that any striker that gets a hat-trick should be happy and at least smile.
I think it took a lot of effort to not smile or show emotion - it was was unnatural.

That all said, if he stays for a few more seasons and scores every week I will allow myself to get used to it.

just in from game and tbh the scoreline is not a true reflection of the game 40 mins in I text my m8 saying we wouldn't score if we played till next year don't think for 1 min that this will be the turn around it will be the same old shite against hull next week pulis or not our club is still a shambles

Blimey Wrigley - a new HC isn't going to turn the whole club round in 2 days?!! Let's give TP a chance (although that seems an odd thing to say after winning his first game 7-0 )

Obviously it'll take a good few weeks for TP to assess things and then get players (existing and any newbies) doing what he wants......so it may be 'the same old shite against Hull next week', but let's not start the 'Pulis Out' chants straight away if it is, eh??

No I don't 1996 - that'd be exactly the other extreme of silly boy behaviour. As stairs said, some recognition of an assist, of relief that we've scored, just a reaction that shows that he thinks he's a TEAM player rather than just a silly little child (with talent!) would've been nice.

Thought it was time to go back up today to show my support for the new regime - I'd decided
to stay away until Irvine was sacked after the Newcastle game.

Dour 1st half, little in the way of movement, team shape didn't look right.

But when we scored and Gateshead got tired, the quality showed. Particularly with Berahino
when he had a bit more time on the ball. Yacob and Samaras came on and looked much
better options than Dorrans and Anichebe, who I thought were treading water for most
of the game... Anichebe looked like he was carrying an injury.

I agree it would've been nice if Saido cracked a smile after scoring. I appreciate it's a
little embarrassing making a song and dance about celebrations against a non league
side, but a smile just helps to endear you with fans, team mates and the general public
who will be supporting him at international level.

Even potential suitors will be put off when he's got a face like a smacked arse after
scoring - no team will want someone miserable in the dressing room.

Of course, this may not be the case, but I'm sure as he gets older and has more media
training, he will realise that it's important to crack a smile when you score, regardless of
the opposition. Some great finishes by the lad though.

Anichebe didn't celebrate his goal at all, Morrison & Brunt very muted too.
Maybe it was out of respect to Gateshead ?
Who cares ? We won 7-0. Doesn't happen every week so chill and enjoy the moment.
Mind you, us old timers remember an 8-0 in the cup...just saying lol !

Great to score 7 even against non league opposition where it means very little but hopefully it'll help to find the best players and give some more confidence. Well done Saido.

7-0 and still negativity.   Yes they were non league but take a look at the Blyth Brum game for a reality check.   Lets look at the positive shall we. Many of you have been crying out for a proactive manager. Well guess what? We finally have one so hear me out on the following points:-
1 TP had originally stated he would watch the FA cup game from the stands however he saw we were struggling and came down to the tech area and started kicking some butts = Proactive
2 In his press conference TP stated just because he's walked through the door does not guarantee survival? Theres a lot of hard work to be done and some new faces needed which he seems to have the backing on = Proactive
3 Jeff Stelling asked the same 4 pundits that wrote us off under AI at the beginning of the season and every week since... "Will West Brom stay up? " (under Pulis)
All four of them said.... YES, No doubt, Absolutely, For sure, No question. These are all ex footballers that should know a bit more about it than the average supporter.
4 Even though TP watched the West Ham game from the stands he clearly got involved and sent messages to the current caretaker managers that may just have secured a point that I would not have had any confidence in previous to his appt. = Proactive

I'd already predicted the QPR 3-2 once they scored their 1st. In fact midway through the game I told my dad Austin would get a hat trick. Hmm!  I predicted a big loss at Man C (3-1) and losses at Stoke  and WH and that we'd be in the bottom 3 come Jan 1st  I wish I was this good when it comes to the lottery. The only thing IMHO that stopped a completion of my prediction was the introduction of TP. The man is a winner and its high time we put the past to bed and started backing our team to get out the s*** with this guy cos I believe it's one of the best appointments we've made since Hodgson   COYB
