Wolves are not after Morsy but there has been a bid from a Championship club and there is interest from 3 League 1 Clubs and 1 League 2 club.

I don't think it takes Sherlock to guess who the L2 team is. Whistle

I reckon the 3 League 1 clubs are Wigan, Sheffield United and Coventry

The club from the Championship which has made the bid could be Ipswich, Brighton or even Preston as they are all interested. I wonder if Burnley are interested because I reckon Sean Dyche has been keeping an eye on what players we've got after signing Darikwa.

Heres how I see the Morsy situation .We should hold out until as late in the window as possible regardless of the size of the bid in the hope of a bidding war.We dont have to be held to ransom at this stage of the window. If by the last hour the best offer isnt what we have in mind then reject it and we keep him until the end of the season.
Sami cant be that desperate to leave he will be going in May anyway .

If we've got to lose Morsy it's better to do it for money than for free in the summer. If it's money we're after, we want as many games out of him first and as much money as we can get ...... Gillingham and Ipswich don't seem to have transfer budgets, and Coventry play the loan market. Wigan have Whelanmoney. If I were an Owl making a promotion push I could think of lots of worse ways of spending some cash and it might upset the Blades too .......

Connor Dimaio sounds an interesting potential signing at only 19. Whatever happened to Diego De Girolamo by the way? I know he was leaving the Blades and then he went back on trial after Clough was sacked. Italian clubs and Benfica were reportedly after him at one time. I assume it's his brother who is captain of Mickleover ........ is it? If he just got disenchanted with the game couldn't someone just nip round to his dad Cosimo's house for a word. Bob Newton used to be a mate of his. Maybe he could take Danny round and introduce him.

He went on loan from Sheffield United to York last season and this season he's on loan at Northampton Town.

Alex Cairns has been released.

Are you sure about Diego Matt? He went to Northampton last season after York. He refused a contract with Sheffield United under Clough . Went back on trial under Marmalade. He is on the Sheffield United website. Can't find a game he's been in for Northampton this season. Equally can't see him after a quick look at Sheff Utd's first team or Under-21s.
He signed a contract in July apparently, but I can't see a Blades team he plays in either. He should be getting first team experience at his age, especially with all his Italian youth caps. And Chris Morgan obviously knows all about him ......

Out of favour? Does seem a bit odd.

He's going to have a temper if he's inherited anything from his dad. He got the football talent ......

It does sound as though he thought and said he should be in the Blades first team ...... and Clough certainly didn't agree.

What's happening now I don't know. He was seriously injured (cruciate I think) and that set his progress back. If that recurred it could explain everything, even end his career.

Soccer Manager's database is usually informative. That has him as a Sheff Utd player, not out on loan ...... Dunno!

He's still at Sheff U. Maybe going out on loan this window. Didn't pull up any trees at York. Don't think he would be good for us. We need more experience until the end of the season. Radio Sheff reported Brighton were lining up a bid for Morsy. Wouldn't surprise me to see Herd and O'Neil as our midfield pairing with Drew back in at RB. Maybe just maybe Mr Saunders did know what he was preparing for.

Thanks for the De Girolamo confirmation Dancing.

Not so sure about experience. The "I've seen this all before" guy drains everyone. Enthusiasm, wanting to prove themselves, wanting to get behind the manager ......... those are qualities I want to see in a player. If he's young he shouldn't have had them knocked out of him yet ........ but some old pro', he can go both ways, influence for good or evil .... The right experience, then great!

Cosi's son, yes I'd take him tomorrow, because I can't imagine he lacks guts or fight. Of course we're a come-down for him, top Italian clubs and Benfica were after him, but his home-town in a battle? Yeah Cosi's boys will know how to fight.

As for Mr Saunders knowing what he was doing. Well he should have known something. But ask Wolves, Doncaster, Wrexham and Crawley whether they think he left them in a good place for the future. All four reacted by wiping his slate clean.

Rumour of a bidding war between Grimsby and Stevenage for Nando £25k-£50k is the figure being spouted.
