Morning all, now the dust has settled. What do we do? If it was me DM & GJ.would be collecting P45s on Monday. (Although they should have gone at Xmas?) Or do we do the traditional WBA thing and wait until DM is totally destroyed? We can then get on with the squad rebuilding. I don't want a new manager coming in at June and starting "I need months to assess the players out" he will have from now until then to decide who goes / stays. It really is time to move on. Changing manager should not be seen as a criminal offence.

DM not up to the job, never has been.
He won't be sacked and will guide us to mid table obscurity, unless he changes his stubborn selections and tactics now, and even then the play offs are only a possibility.
I know a few dont want promotion, and I can understand why, but without it and the money it generates then WBA will languish in the lower half of the championship or worse. Any decent players we currently have, albeit not many on recent form and all loans will be gone, those remaining will be in experienced or knackered.
The current squad have under performed and that is down to management and if this management remains then I have little confidence they will ever be able to develop a competitive squad.

Tactics / formations / Tired legs / too many games / all rubbish statements. No honesty - No enthusiasm - No Drive. - No determination - No leaders. Barnes gave us some of this and after he left we never replaced it. Same as Fletcher / Ollson / Evans. Which one of the 14 players we have bought in processes these qualities. NONE. Do we really want to persist in trying to get our loaf to rise with no yeast?? You can mix the ingredients up we have, change the quantities about, but alas it ain't gonna get any better. Thanks for trying though Darren but the party is over. Call for Gordon Ramsey.

HARVEY BARNES is the reason we are where we are in the table.
He was the link from midfield and provided Gayle with most of his goals.
I would love to see some stats of points and goals scored before Jan 1st and after, a average of course as there were more games I bet their is a huge difference.
Given that Barnes has now gone and Gayle is shoved out on the wing is it any wonder we are struggling and Darren's doing nothing to put it right

Sadly a lot of truth in that post.
Darren must have been brainwashed by GJ he never played 3 - 5 - 2 or 4 - 3 - 3 on any of the preseason games or in his PL games AFAK
It can't be a coincidence that it all changed when Jones showed up.
I would have more respect for Darren if he was honest - dispatched Jones and called on his friends to assist with team selection tactics and motivation.

I'll be honest, I'll be gutted if Big Dave is sacked; not because of the performances since we're underachieving with the resources we have at our disposal but because he's the most decent, genuine bloke I've seen in football for many years. My upset is with those who appointed him as I feel it was completely misplaced, I don't know whether it was the cheap option, player pressure or heart ruling the head. Whatever it was, a six game record at the end of last season when anything was going to be seen as an improvement after Pardew, is not sufficient to hand him the reins in such a crucial season for us. They've set the guy up to fail, not through lack of investment but by putting him in a role when he was not ready for it.
It will end in his sacking, I feel sure of this. If it does, it should be quickly followed by that of Mark Jenkins.

Yes is the answer, our expectations are what? I'm not sure anymore. We whinged about leeds 1st goal. But it was sweetly struck and right in.the top corner. If we had scored it, we wouldn't be blaming the opposition. We would be saying how great we are. At least Johnstone didn’t get the blame.

I honestly think we are better than we are, it’s just BD and GJ aren’t making the most of the players available. They play Adaraboiyo instead of Townsend at LB. he was culpable for the 1st goal in my opinion.
Best Striker in the League Gayle is out wide on the left whilst JayRod who is better there coming in off the line is down the middle. No Murphy, Montero or Phillips in starting 11. No pace in Midfield. I could go on.
No real idea how to change things, this keeping playing out the back has cost many goals against and points this season. BD doesn’t learn, it’s same old same old. End of last season we played different formations and it worked. Jones has changed things. Yes we are 4th, yes we were on fire and playing great football as in you score 3 we’ll Score 4. We had Harvey Barnes who obviously was probably our most important player.
I’ll now settle for top 6 because we are piss poor against the other top teams. We have bottled it against Borough, Sheffield Utd and Leeds and what’s happened at home?
A decent manager would have this squad well clear by now and before you say well BD is learning, he’s new etc. Well I don’t care because if we don’t go up this season we will be in a world of pain. He doesn’t learn.
Having said all of this it’s too late to change things now and I hope he can get us going again and pull something out of the hat. We need to aim for 2nd place as top is out of reach.

Two different worlds! 4th place in the Championship doesn’t get you promoted. 4th place in the PL league and you could win the European Cup the next season.
