No disrespect to Paul Heckingbottom but we should be looking for someone with a higher profile than him. His last management role was at Leeds (Feb-June 2018) where he was sacked after only winning 4 out of 16 matches in charge.
This smacks of desperation by the board, I can see us going back to the days when we had a new manager, and loan players, every season for 8 years.
Hibs fans deserve more than this from the club, if it goes ahead attendances will decline to their pre Lennon days.

Which manager with a high profile do you think is likely to come to Hibs at this moment in time? There are really only 2 high profile managers in Scotland, Rogers at Celtic and Gerrard at Rangers, and one of them is only high profile as a player not a manager, the rest are not high profile at all.

SCO,
Hibs got rid/let go the highest profile manager that they are likely to attract in a lifetime but there are managers out there that have a better history and profile than Heckingbottom. Whether they would be interested in coming to Easter Road is open to question but if you never ask you never know.
Steve Clarke and Jim Mcintyre were mentioned and both are higher profile than Heckingbottom and have much better result records.

Absolutely - wright has done a great job at st johnstone.
I'd rather have him or robinson than any leftover from the English championship.

Looks like its a straight choice between heckingbottom and Appleton, and both will be interviewed over the weekend.

hibeejim21,
Looking at the stats for the managers you mention it becomes pretty obvious that the board are taking a massive gamble on appointing either of them.
Heckingbottom has only got a 34% win rate as a manager whilst Appleton is ahead on 39% win rate, neither of which is good enough to gain a top 4 finish in the SPFL.
When you compare their records to the man they are replacing it makes worrying reading.
Neil Lennon had a 48% win rate during his time at Easter Road with an overall 55% throughout his managerial career.
I can`t see either of them taking us anywhere but backwards.

Yep! That's a fairly logical conclusion and really shows that, if it is true, taking that "risk" appears to be the way that Hibs wanna tackle this problem! I just hope they scrutinise these "candidates" very closely when conducting the interviews and come to a wise decision! Possibly try again with someone else if unimpressed!

To be fair to Appleton, he was in control of Portsmouth, Blackpool and Blackburn while those clubs were in turmoil, he really had no chance of success there. His record at Oxford though was very good and at the time was considered someone who would go on to better and better things in management.

SCO,
The same scenario applies if Appleton is appointed our boss, he'll still be in charge of a club in turmoil and going by your statement he has little chance of success at Easter Road. I think it's fair to say whoever takes over will not have the luxury of changing the squad during the summer. Is it fair bringing him in under those circumstances.?.
