The Thai Takeover and what we really want thread!!
#61
So, as of now, I have a stranglehold on most of the threads as the last poster. How do you like that imre, thurnscoe and maddix? Well, tough shite. After missing the game today, I'm going through withdrawal symptoms. And no imre, give your mind a wash in bleach. I'm not talking about that kind of withdrawal!!

What do I, peiOWL, want the new owners to do:

* Fire SG and hire a competent manager.
* Sign a PROVEN striker who can actually strike.
* Sign 2 new wingers who can cross the ball.
* FFS get rid of the dross, the dead wood, the waste of spacers, the useless twats who use up precious wages
* Send a bunch of thugs to deal with imre and thurnscoe. Might have to involve Madine and that Ranger guy in these missions.

Not asking much am I?

Press Conference bits & pieces

MM: Straight away after meeting Mr Chansiri, I knew I was dealing with a winner. He will be a top chairman for this club.
DC: We want to get Sheffield Wednesday back in the Premier League. Our aim is to celebrate the club's 150th anniversary in the PL.
DC: I would like to thank Milan for his kind words and everything he's done financially & morally to support this great club.
DC: I am from Bangkok, Thailand. I have 2 brothers, one older, one younger, my father founded TUF.
DC: I myself own businesses in real estate, and I have purchased SWFC with my own money for £37.5M and DEBT FREE.
DC: I'm pleased to say the club is free of all debts and cleared of all charges on Hillsborough Stadium.
DC: Stuart Gray is a good man and very knowledgable. I'm very happy with the job he's doing and I give him my full support.
DC: Everywhere I go in England, I can see the importance of Sheffield Wednesday.
DC: SWFC is a club with rich history, has a large loyal following of supporters who cheer their team on through thick and thin.
DC: I believe myself and our team will do our very best to get us back to the Premier League.
DC: Seeing as swfc will be celebrating their 150th anniversary in 2017, that will be the ideal goal for getting them back to Premier League
DC: My son is a very passionate follower of football and this was a big factor in deciding the buy a club.
Mr Chansiri says #swfc is a personal purchase and not on behalf of his family. A surprise to hear him reveal the exact price. £37.5m.
DC: We're looking at making all the necessary investments to get the club back the Premier League.
DC: Milan will remain a trusted advisor.
MM: It was a special mission for me, today I only feel happy and relieved because of the person who is taking over the club.
DC: At the end of this season we will evaluate the players and the market, consult with the staff.. I believe there needs to be investment.
DC: But we need to do it in a smart manner, not throw money at it It's about buying smart. Work together and are intelligent we can improve.
DC: There will be some people moving in from Thailand so that it's like I'm running the club while I'm away.
DC: Discussions about buy the club have been going on for many months. There more I learned the more I was interested.
DC: When I first came and experienced the club, I knew it was one I wanted to be involved in.
DC: There was no interest in buying another club before this.
DC: There are plans in place to establish an academy in Thailand

TAKEOVER HAS BEEN RATIFIED BY THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE Smile Smile Smile Thumb up Thumb up Thumb up

The academy in Thailand is a positive, I know Thailand aren't known for producing an abundance of world class footballers, however, the more pies we have our fingers in the more likely we are to find a diamond in the rough.

Hillsborough's now debt free, no loans against it etc etc.. Buzzing

He likes SG and is fully backing him.... that is the only worrying statement in the for me.

Its all PR at this stage.  Coming out and saying the current manager is wank or very knowledgable (but only about archaic 4-4-2) is not the thing to do at the first press conference since it would detract from all the other upbeat vibe about the takeover and promotion intentions.  I think SG will be under close scrutiny for the remaining games and along with many of the players his future will be assessed in early May.

SG is on trial for his job until the end of the season, does well he stays, does poorly he goes.

Certainly he is saying all the right things. Love the honesty of the exact price he paid, don't get those sort of details too often in football. Also love the fact that he has made promises to his son, any father with any pride would do everything possible to keep those promises!!

I am sure he has been evaluating things from a distance while the ratification went through and I am sure he has some plans to make some quick changes, but as Washington said, this was not the day to say anything that wasn't positive. Anyone know what will happen to Paul Aldridge, do we think he is likely to move on or will he be kept for his experience??

He said PA will stay.

I suspect that we will see his teeth in the summer.
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

Do you think PA should stay??  I really know little about him, what are your thoughts??

That is a very bold statement but I think one he has to make.  It sets a goal for him and the rest of the staff to be measured by, won't be easy but it is a worthy goal.  So this means that we have to get promoted either this season (highly unlikely!!), next season 2015-16 or the season after 2016-17, that way we will be in the prem on September 4th 2017 as is his goal!!!
