He was with Rangers for 20 or so years.
Very much in the realm of rumour, hearsay and wishful thinking, but the latest transfer prospects doing the rounds are Mohsni leaving when his contract expires to play in Tunisia, and Vuckic hoping to get a permanent move to Rangers. I'd definitely take Vuckic if a deal could be done, but he'd cost a bit and there are bound to be other clubs looking at him after his recent form. Mohsni is a strange one for me. When he's at his ridiculous worst I want him nowhere near the club, but he can be utterly dominant at the back and a threat up front, and he loves (or at least loved playing for us). If there were a way to get rid of his concentration lapses and carelessness (not to mention his temper) I'd have him in the team, but with them he's too much of a liability. Great guy but currently comes at too great a cost.
The Mohsni rumour is also a reminder that the say over whether or not we keep our out of contract players isn't ours alone.

I think when Mohsni is surrounded by defenders, he feels a lot more secure and focused. Stick him in beside someone who doesn't know what the f*ck he's doing and he tries too hard to overcompensate leading to catastrophic errors.
I'd like to keep him as long as he isn't asked to babysit aging 'legends' who can't face up to the reality of their own shortcomings.

Noticed Shaun Barker is being let go by Derby County, yes he`s 32 now and there were big injury worries but Weir and Ehigou came in for you with bad injury reps and did superbly
Barker was a decent defender good enough for some EPL clubs, might be ok for a trial-certainly a consistent player not a bomb scare

I think we need someone with the height and experience to dominate his position - a Mohsni without the 'creative' urges or short attention span - to cut out most of the soft goals we concede from cross balls and set pieces, and to help I still some self confidence among his team mates. McCulloch just doesn't do that, and with Bell struggling for form and confidence since his return, we're liable to concede at pretty much any time.

Why not offer Ron Vlaar a contract ?
He has been humming and harring about staying at AVFC, but he could go on a free, as his contract ends this Season.

Depends what league your in next year
if in SFC Barker is 6ft 4 with height, experience and dominating, currently without a club so is looking to prove himself if in the SPL I reckon Vlaar is too much in wages and may be tempted by offers from EPL clubs and perhaps Italy Sylvian Distin is a good alternative, yes he`s getting on but so was David Weir-he`s still class at least for a season to help a younger CB settle in
Sound like Barker fits the bill but frustratingly we'll probably miss out on any of the better free transfers available because we can't offer any contracts until we know what division we're in, and even then we've had no updates on what's happening on the financial front since the EGM. As far as I know the new board have done nothing to improve that side of things as yet.

Really El Car?? with the huge sums of money Sevco have you can afford to throw willy nilly contracts about I mean it's never bothered the club before.
