Thing is the press quoted Collins reason for leaving was lack of investment not the fact the players weren't happy with training regime,

Correct Fred but there was so much going on behind the scenes, when the players went to Petrie I think it made his mind up for him. Confused

I know and I never got it at all if you go to training you work your arse off and reap the benefits of it I played amateur and we trained hard and the dividends were great we went for 90 mins while the teams around us were out on there feet

collins had the kind of career and knowledge of the game that was way beyond the ken of most scottish players,he was way ahead of his time with the ideas he had in trying to change the culture and training methods but that alone can't make you a good manager.

Problem was he wasn't a good enough man manager to sell it,nor did he buy good enough players with transfers. I can't bring myself to slag him off too much though.
