madden - season ticket holder at ibrox.

mclean-brother played for rangers

spawn of dallas - Laugh Doh

beaton - you are having a laugh ffs.

We can only hope for the best with the assistants. But i'd guess they are lodge attendees. Clearly the SFA are desperate to get rangers into europe.

However the decision last night which in my mind was a lot more obvious as a penalty has probably cost us a chance of promotion.......a much greater consequence .

All teams get poor decisions and none more so than here in Scotland where the refs are fairly poor at best. I am a believer that decisions do even themselves out over a season of league football but in one off games it is harder to tolerate.

Fair points, but we can't pick and choose when a poor decision is made. Nor can the refs (unless you subscribe fully to the paranoid brigade). We have to accept that mistakes will be made, and more importantly we have to accept that a referee's interpretation of an incident might not necessarily coincide with ours.

For instance, I thought last night's handball should have been a penalty, yet I can see why the ref might not have given it - it didn't look deliberate.

As for the 'these things even out' scenario - I don't think there's any evidence they do. Shit just happens.

The referee can't make the decisions on the perceived importance of the game - just an honest decision is what we want.  You could argue all night about whether it's a penalty or not, but if the referee doesn't believe it's a penalty that's the decision he has to give. "I gave a Hibs a penalty because it was a play-off semi" just wouldn't be acceptable.

Football is a game of errors and most of them are made by players.  Resorting to calling refs cheats when in most cases it will be the inadequacy of your players that cost you games is pathetic.

As for houston...well he has had plenty to say about officials this season. Looks like its paying off now.

Falkirks excellent record = 0 wins from 5 Laugh Laugh  Soon to be 6. Watch houstons excema flaked heid explode on friday.

Well spotted hibeejim - the anti Hibs trend is plainly obvious! Just study thread #47 and other previous ones! Never a good word to say about Hibs FC! Not actually interested in Hibs FC at all but very quick to make some kinda irritating disparaging snide remark time after time after time after time after time......... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!! I thought Mark the moderator's previous intervention would be heeded just a little bit but all that happened was a contrived 'temporary disappearance' away from the flak and then conveniently return with the same irritating shit that has been regurgitated before on this board - MARK THE MODERATOR PLEASE NOTE EH!!

Stop bleating, for heaven's sake, you're like a child.

You miss my point Worthing + Tru........and not for the first time in Worthings case! I was critical of HOUSTONS statements over the penalty decisions ( and it balanced the one from the league game) which I thought was fairly obvious in my first line. I was not implying that refs should look at the importance of the game and if you read all my threads you will NOT find anywhere me saying refs are cheats etc. As I also said I believe decisions tend to even out over a season but last nights decision was just harder to tolerate as we don't have 37 other games to come back. I know these forums rely on banter but occasionally you need to think a little about what has been written before diving in with your anti Hibs lines.

Sorry for anyone following this cr*p but Worthings post seems to have been removed?? Its still on my reply though.

Games don't even out exeterhibby! This is one of these irritating rhetorical comments that are said by certain footie suspects to suit their own argument. The soft pen that Houston raised in his interview is irrelevant IMO and it suits his narrow argument down to the ground! The man's indiscretionary behaviour/manner is ludicrous in this day n age and he'll never change! Re that no pk fiasco last night, on bbc radio sport this morning Alan Muir was 'slaughtered' by two different ex refs who studied the footage but they were also highly critical of the guy being anywhere near this Hibs match last night mainly because of the controversy that covered his previous officialdom at the Falkirk stadium - as stated, there were other ref options available to the SFA but they never went for a more appropriate candidate who had no qualms re previous incidents of any note - IMO that pragmatic view was spot on!! Thumb up

Games may not even out 0762 but decisions tend to......which may or may not have an influence on the game. Sometimes they go for you and sometimes against.     Its just like luck.....on Saturday we got lucky against Raith with the first goal and last night Falkirk did with theirs agaist us. .......thats life.

Yes, it does appear to have been removed. No doubt The local cry baby had a wee bleat.

The content still stands though. You said "penalty decisions and Houston's comments".  Houston will say what he thinks he should. I think the decisions are just that and no more. I think the major decisions evened themselves out on the night.
