Seemingly Derby are after Vydra and Kodija and Newcastle after Murphy.....
We better be ready to make our moves...

Vydra has signed for Derby for £8m.

That is a statement of intent, but then we said that last season when they splashed some cash and that didn't pan out for them. Better manager now but time will tell.

Murphy definitely gone to Newcastle.
I agree SCO. Clubs are making statements of intent.
We're trying to loan Bennett when their chairmen wants to sell him. Its a bit mind blowing that more people aren't concerned

Not sure that's fair with regards to Bennett, we loaned him last season and again agreed a loan with Villa for this one, only for their new chairman to step in at the last minute and stop the deal. We had no way of knowing that he would do that.
Newcastle signing Murphy is probably good for us, if you assume the Geordies will take one of the autop spots, then it weakens one of our potential rivals.
It's going to be an interesting few days.

We cannot compete financially against the teams on parachute payments and stay within FFP. Newcastle start with a way stronger squad & can sell players at big prices to give themselves more muscle in the transfer market. Our only chance is to follow the model of Boro last season - hope that our signings from the previous season are good enough and that fine tuning lifts us to a higher level. We go into September more settled than we did a year ago. Let's hope that makes the difference.
