No worries about the match at Ibrox, Coops : Rangers FC - McCoist: I Can't Wait

The Heart of Midlothian manager Robbie Nielson thinks it will be an 'evenly matched' game : Heart of Midlothian - Robbie: No pressure here

As ever with Rangers, it depends on what tactics Ally adopts - on the deck .. please !!! ... or hoofing ! Doh

Can't see us winning this one. Hearts will used tried and tested tactics - 10 men behind the ball - and we won't have the guile to create chances. We'll get sloppy at the back, they'll score, game over. Hope I'm wrong but...

Got a lot of time for you El Car and your comments and thoughts, however, surprise, surprise. I just cannot agree with the tactics you think Hearts will adopt- 10 men behind the ball??? Not happened yet at Tynecastle this season, so see no reason to adapt to that tactic tomorrow- what we try and do is play football, on the deck, short, sharp quick passing with good movement and pace, not only on the ball but also when not in possession- worked so far. Hopefully we all enjoy a decent football match.

If you want to beat us it's the best tactic to employ. We're far more likely to score against an open team.

Baffling team selection.

RANGERS (4-4-2): Simonsen; McGregor, Mohsni, McCulloch, Wallace; Macleod, Law, Black, Smith; Miller, Daly
SUBS: Robinson, Foster, Boyd, Templeton, Shiels, Clark, Aird

Baffling is exactly the word that sprang to my mind too. We've broken up our best central defensive pairing to include a bombscare who's more likely to get sent off than keep a clean sheet. If Foster's not fit enough to start he shouldn't really be on the bench, but even if he can't play there must have been a better option than moving McGregor to right back. And by playing Macleod on the right we limit the impact of both him and Wallace, arguably our two best attacking threats.

Looks like we're setting up to sit tight, punt long balls to Daly and hope Miller can pick up a knock down.

Even the bench looks wrong for this now I look at it. One not-fully-fit defender, and then 2 strikers, 2 auxiliary forwards and a winger. What happens if we need to bring on a defensive player in midfield? And it's all well and good to have extra attacking options, but we can only bring 3 of them on. Ally will have no intention of playing at least one of those named except under the most unlikely of circumstances.

Looking at their central defenders, Daly could have a field day against them today, if the right service is provided. This is where Smith could be influential.

If we need to bolster defensive midfield then McCulloch drops in and Foster pushes MacGregor into the centre. Plus we can't ignore Mohsni's obvious goal threat.

Still, too many changes for such an important game, smacks a little of desperation IMO.

I'd have been tempted to start with Templeton instead of Miller, looking at it like that. He wins a lot of free kicks in the opposition half and we could have capitalised on that for once.
