Well at least we have a goal on our travels around Germany. Steve Mounie getting the equalizer in a 1-1 draw at Darmstadt.

Much improved display yesterday. Big Phil and Little Pritch probably amongst the better performers. Sabiri looked ok as well.

Sabiri getting a lot of game time in pre season. I wonder if he's going to be a surprise starter against Chelsea.

watched it on Fox Sports, couldn't understand a word they said..it was all double dutch to me!

Started off slowly and within the first 10minutes Lyon should really have been two goals up, Depay through one on one with the Hamer and both occasions he fluffed it. Yes hamer pulled off a decent block for his first attempt but his second attempt was woeful. After that we grew into the game a bit more and Mounie looked sharp and battled hard up front, unlucky with a decent header from about 12 yards out.
Second half started on the front foot only to be hit on the break when once again another one on one with Hamer which was put wide, moments later one nil to Lyon..again through one on one and no mistake, defence nowhere and Hefele blowing out of his arse trying to get back(he was also the one who played them onside). I hope that's just lack of match practice because boy did he look slow!
worrying that we lost Diakhaby(sp?)who seemed to go down with anyone touching him. looked very quick when given the ball in the right area.
The equaliser came from a corner from Pritchard, ball into the mix and big Phil rising like a salmon while bouncing a defender away and watching a goalkeeper waving at his mum kindly fell in the direction of Kongolo(he's magic you know) who stabbed  the ball home.
Then enter big LDP, Town pressed high up the pitch and forced the mistake, ball given to Pritchard who put the perfect ball over to big LDP who had purposely made space for himself to crack a very good volley at goal which was well saved but the rebound fell nicely for big lol to calmly slot home. Then in the last minute big Phil  won the ball back in the middle of the pitch and brushed off a couple of challenges to play LDP in but he still had plenty to do with a defender closing in he cracked into the roof of the goal.

Overall a decent work out but still plenty to come and we've yet to see our strongest XI play together in pre season.

Positives
Hamer
Sabiri
Pritchard
Depoitre

Must Improve
Hefele

Negatives:
We were pretty shocking in the first half really, and also at the start of the second, we woke up from roughly the hour mark and the last half hour was very positive. They could and probably should have been at least 3 up at half time - they carved us open at will and had 2 other one on ones before finally scoring in the 2nd half. Very concerning how easy they cut through us when countering with pace. Diakhaby could be both a positive and a negative really - first impressions would be that he's similar to VLP, where VLP has trickery Diakhaby has pace to get into really good positions, but his decision making and execution when in said position was off.

Positives:
Sabiri looked decent, much more physical than I expected in the middle of the park and a few decent passes too (definitely need Hogg/Williams in there though to avoid being cut open so easily). Flo and Smith both had good games down the right, pushing on and causing problems on the overlap. VLP looked good - very positive on and off the ball and ran himself into a couple of positions where he was unlucky in the end. Pritchard is a class act - said when we signed him last year we didn't use him enough but he's seen plenty of the ball this pre-season, his set pieces were also good. Mounie played very well but once again wasn't given the service he needs, one decent ball and he nearly scored with a good header. Depoitre as bright as ever and took his 2 goals very well. Hamer MOTM and definitely offers genuine competition for Lossl.
