Well said paignton.Rankin and pearson both put in challenges that were just as bad last weekend for instance.

A club that boasted the likes of hurlock, muscat, souness, moore, bougherra, mcculloch and even (their greatest player) greig moaning about thuggery and bad tackles on real footballers.I've heard everything now.

You provincials don't get it: we are the big news. We are the club that gets reported on. Column inches.
It's you weegies that dinnae get it,you're the provincials, we're fae the capital city. Nae body outside Spain would be interested in Barca or Real if they played in the Spanish 2nd tier. Just as nae body outside Scotland is a' that interested in Rangers. As I said,fu' o' yer ain't selfimportance

As you lot are delusional that anybody outside of Leith gives a fig about your wee club.

Chip on your shoulder the size of the castle rock. As for nobody giving a toss about us you are always bumping your gums about us.

It's simple, yet obviously too difficult for you to grasp: -

Top English Premiership clubs aren't going to send their young players up here for first team experience if they see that their players are being targeted for brutality. Scottish football will be seen as backwards and Neanderthal, and if you think that's only going to affect Rangers then think again - young Feruz at Hibs would be warming the bench at Chelsea U21s instead of Hibs.

That is how Scottish football's reputation would be damaged.

Now the cause/effect shouldn't be difficult to understand, but that of course is muddied by the simple fact that the boy plays for Rangers, therefore he's allowed to be booted all the way back to London. People's attitudes need to change, some of you guys need to stop hating Rangers above all else.

Trus, you obviously dinnae watch much fitba' but there's tackles like that, and worse in every league in the world and everybody that's been on here has condemned that tackle. The lower divisions in Scotland are probably nae better or worse than a lot o' other countries and the fact is rangers play in the lower divisions, most, not all, but most o' these players play in that division play there cos they're no' good enough tae play at a higher level so there's gonnae be bad tackles against players that are quicker and fitter, no' all deliberate. Tae say that one bad tackle on a player will sully the reputation o' Scottish fitba' just because he's on loan fae an EPL team is utter bollocks. There's a lot o' things affecting the reputation o' Scottish fitba' and Maist o' them wear blazers

If you think that Oduwa's treatment in recent months is not being noticed down south, then it's you who's talking bollocks.

Bad tackles I can accept, if they are dealt with properly and a meaningful deterrent is in place. In this case, and in more than a few since Oduwa came to Scotland, neither has happened. It now appears that it's open season on Oduwa - kick him as much as you want, then justify it afterwards by saying "ah, but he's English" or "he's acting the big man and needs cut down to size". This isn't a solitary incident remember, the furore started by Alloa's Colin Hamilton after Oduwa disrespected him so heinously by actually losing the ball to him, has led to this attitude prevailing among too many.

There's a bigger picture behind all this though. Is our game so good that we can afford to literally kick every last bit of skill out of our young players? Our national team, and our European club co-efficient slump seems to suggest not. We need more skill, not less or none at all. Unless attitudes - at grass roots level and among the common supporters - change then, like the Neanderthals, our game will slowly die out.

And when that happens Paignton, who will you blame? Rangers or Oduwa?
