Mel may not have been any good but he was a thousand times more entertaining than Pulis and he did actually keep us up. For those who are adamant that Pulis will not get us relegated, what have you seen in 0-0 draws against Watford, Southampton and Port Vale and a 1-0 win against 9 men, that makes you so sure?

Well, I'm pretty sure we would have gone down last season without TP.
Steve Clarke & Alan Irvine just look at their records. Any manager who loses 6 or 7 games on the trot is going down.
Pepe Mel I did like, his football looked exciting and seemed a great bloke, however, am told he was another Di Matteo, was never at the club during the week.
The views on this board reflect the fans feelings 50/50 on TP but one things for sure more performances like that at home and his tenure will be short lived.

It's interesting that we have yet to win back-to-back league games under TP. Doesn't seem capable of risking an attacking set-up for more than one game here and there. I wonder if we'll get back-to-back wins at all this season - my feeling is, not.

Defence is decent enough and attack likewise, but our midfield is a shocker.

Just too immobile, nobody breaking through to join the attack, and the distance between the attack and midfield is so vast, the strikers are having nothing to feed off except 40 yard punts.

The majority of Pulis' signings have been okay, but McLean is an absolute shocker. As for Gardner, I can't for the life of me understand how the odd decent strike is enough to make you a Premier League footballer. Midfield players like these 2, who are deemed good enough just because they 'put a shift in', despite not being able to pass, create, or take someone on is exactly what is wrong with British football.

Not too sure what's goes on behind the scenes, but come 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, Sessegnon is a big improvement on the majority of our starters because he's the one player we have who can actually link the midfield and attack. Pulis talks about moving forward with the ball at pace and us being unable to keep the ball, yet persists with Gardner who can't pass or run.

Drastic improvement needed but I just can't help thinking that we haven't got the personnel in midfield. McClean as the 'established' wing option that we chose to sign could be the mistake that causes us to be in a real dogfight. Simply not good enough.

If we play Yacob & fletcher we must go with 5 in Midfield,
The gap between the middle and the front two is shocking because the midfield in a 4 is so slow,

Latest ........Saido will not sign a new contract .......

Missing Morrison big style yesterday. He is the link between midfield and the strikers.
For me it's Rondon up front or Saido with Mozza playing number 10 role just behind in a 4-4-1-1
The players we have would be ideal for 4-2-3-1 but TP seems intent on 4-4-2.
Didn't boo or clap Berahino yesterday, we need him playing and scoring but hope he goes in January for £25 mill to be honest.

Whenever TP's reign comes to an end I reckon a certain Manager in Scotland and Ex Baggie who has 6 consecutive wins and sits top of the league after beating Celtic should be next Thumb up

Aberdeen's Derek McInnes.

I was only saying yesterday that modern football is so BORING compared to when we had the late 70's team.

That team into 1982 was brilliant, played fast flowing football. Once Willie Johnston or Laurie Cunningham got the ball out wide, they wouldn't turn back to the half way line they would fly down the wing or do a quick one two then off to the by-line to get a cross over.

I hate this boring sideways, backwards stuff and with TP its sideways, backwards then HOOOOOOOF down the middle. Its killing me and as I have said on another thread even though I have a season ticket I really can't be arsed any more. I'm taking a break, it's sad but I might even go and watch the Saddlers (whom I have always had a soft spot)who although are league one are playing some decent football and deserve better support.

Albion already have my season ticket money so no slagging me off please, just racked off with WBA at minute, its taken 40 years for me to get to this point but there it is.

I could only see the MOTD highlights so I don't have much to add other than the obvious; drop Gardner, don't play Rondon and Lambert together.

One other thing to add is that when we signed McManaman a Wigan fan on another board said he never plays a full game and is always subbed off after 60/70 minutes so I think his stamina isn't amazing and Pulis shouldn't be vilified for subbing him off when it seems like McManaman just doesn't play full games.
