Olsson having a nightmare I would say responsible for the Pedro goal, not for the deflection but letting Pedro make the initial run so easily. Defence which we are supposed to be so good at, must still be on the their holidays as I have not seen them this season as yet.

A lot lot better today, deserved at least a point. Mcmanaman and Rondon really impressed me

In a slightly better frame of mind after second half, though many of our players still look to have a massive lack of confidence in themselves. Just how can a team with 10 men still have more possession then we did.

Definite improvement today but with 11 men I think Chelsea would have been out of sight.

As I say, get this transfer window closed and get the squad sorted out and then the season starts for real. We had the hardest start out of any team in the league so hopefully we will catch up pretty quickly.

One thing I will say, a centre back partnership of Olsson and McAuley isn't going to get us anywhere but the Championship.

Also, as I said after the Watford game, 5 midfielders is the way forward in this league.

Agree Harry. Look like quality signings. Also Mozza, despite the pen, was awesome.
Dunno the score with Bera but in my deluded world it's a tactical game to befuddle the opposition.

Anyone on here been on http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk ?
Not sure how accurate it is but did a quick tot up of the value of both line-ups.
Albion £30.8m   Chelsea £245.7m

I expected a thrashing today so not unhappy. A massive improvement on the previous games and the weaknesses in the team are glaringly obvious but it will take time so keep the faith chaps.

Agree 96 - but it was a clear cut red card that could easily have been a goal or at least a pen.
I can go a step higher than Aston Villa

Mcmanaman was the best player on the pitch behind Pedro.

We kept hazard and Willian quiet all game, which was good.

Lambert doesn't offer us much from what I've seen. McLean should be back up, for when Mcmanaman needs to come off or isn't around. Think brunt is fantastic at LB, hardly ever gets beaten and puts a really good shift in. Thought yacob was good today as well, more cultured with his passing forward.

Happy with the performance on another day, a point or 3 was achievable. Time to get some points on the board now.
