Then I hope they don't give us the 'order of the boot' next Sunday, SCO !

If I remember correctly they gave you guys some trouble last season didn't they??

They always had a sting in the tail, SCO.

Bit out of the loop here - that's Friday Night games for you. Big Grin

Happy with the win against St Mirren, well deserved it was too. Full-backs playing a stormer and Walsh and McKay both doing really well. Waghorn has great movement and instinctively switches play really well. Holt was great on the ball, setting up Wallace's second goal with a perfect slide-rule pass. Overall, lots of things to be positive about.

Negatives though - chance conversion rate isn't good enough. That's why I suspect a new striker will be procured soon, and slack play in defensive midfield by Halliday allowing his man to run off him to score St Mirren's goal. Kiernan didn't recognise the threat quick enough either it has to be said.

Lots being said about Foderingham's lack of composure with the ball at his feet - I don't buy into that though. Far too often the back pass to him was to his wrong foot - or when he was already being closed down - and until our defenders sort that out he'll struggle.

Interesting stat there from a new stats site called www.therangersreport.com -

http://www.therangersreport.com Wrote:Outside of one howler, this was a brilliant example of Foderingam beginning possession from the back & then his teammates either carrying the ball into the offensive half or sending precise passes from the back into attack.  Foderingham went short with his distribution 74% of the time & Rangers turned that into possession in St. Mirren’s half 88% of the time.  Ridgers relied on a long ball 100% of the time & Rangers were able to gain control of the ball 74% of the time.

Seems there's undeniable evidence to support the 'keeper playing out from the back. Y'know, like most modern football teams do?

Seriously, Warburton is bringing an absolutely wonderful breath of fresh air to our club.

To be fair to fodders, every player makes a bad pass, his are highlighted more. But it was wonderful to watch especially from the stands, actual movement off the ball. The defence will get tighter with more games, and i believe the same of the strikers too. Absolutely fantastic to watch Rangers at the moment.

Another negative stat -

In the three games so far (Hibs, Peterhead and St Mirren), Foderingham has faced only four shots on target against him, yet three of them were goals.

(One was a penalty though, it's worth noting.)

He didn't have much chance with St Mirrens goal either.

Keeper looks ropey to me,but its early doors and we have no room to talk.

I haven't seen any real issues with him. He's been pretty good overall with his distribution, especially considering what he's being asked to do, looks commanding in his area which is nice to see for the first time since I don't even know when, and the first Hibs goal is the only one against him that disappointed me in terms of how he should have done. Time will tell if that was a blip or the norm.

If he is constantly having the ball played to his wrong foot, then yes he would look ropey. I would rather that than punts up the park to be fair.

Is it his wrong foot? To me he's left footed and that's where they play it most of the time.I expect to be able use his other foot at least reasonably well.

I'll concede the point of he is indeed right footed.
