So how on earth will the ref justify that? I suppose at least it was Macauley's fault in the first place. The commentator is annoying me by trying to explain it as being for a second non-existent foul - no, it was yet another basic error by a so called professional referee.

"The greatest league in the world." Hahahaha.
If there was ever any choice about our set-up for this game, there's not now. Backs to the wall, we have to play for the 0-0. Doing okay so far.
There's the breakthrough. Could be a long afternoon now.

What a dead game this is now.
It was always going to be tough but if we could have frustrated Man City by keeping them out until the back end of the game, there was a chance.
No argument about the foul, could have been worse with a penalty awarded as well. I am happy now to try and get out of the game without Man City scoring a hat full.
On the positive side - the Re Card will be appealed successfully and so we will be at full strength for the next game - this was always likely to be a waste of 90 minutes in the scheme of things

2-0. Anything good on the other side?

Yep that confirms, NEW CB NEEDED NEXT SEASON
Olsson isn't good enough and Mcauley is nearly 35, we need to spend some cash on a young good centre half to partner Lescott

Glad I hadn't spent any money on going to this. It was all over after a couple of minutes.
