Good to see the owners have made a decision rather then dithering. Get a new man in immediately and sort the shower out who have turned us into a bunch of losers. Out with the old and in with the new.

Good timing that we made a decent list 3 months ago!

Crazy to assume when talking about West Brom. But in theory a new manager will have lots of time to discuss squad requirements and be involved across the summer.

Queue a decision in September.

And cue the “we need Sean Dyche” conversation. Please no! People were moaning about Corberan’s attritional style but, compared to Dyche, it’s like watching a classic Guardiola team

Huddersfield and Cardiff also on the hunt for a new manager, which is why I said earlier I hope they have someone ready to sign on the dotted line if TM gets the push.

I think if we learned anything from Mowbray's time here, it's that it rarely works going back...

Being brutally honest, had it been anyone other than Tony Mowbray serving up these selections and results. I'd have probably called for his head earlier...

In his first tenure, we played some excellent, winning football. Positive football home and away. Going to Molineux and putting 3 past them. It was a thing of beauty.

That bought him some time with me...

It was only really after today's debacle, which I'd say was probably the worst performance in 20 years given the circumstances, that I thought enough was enough.

Unfortunately this time around I think the pressure got to him. Not only the pressure of needing the wins to get us into the playoffs, but also the pressure of delivering good football based on his previous time with us. Sadly, I do not think this is a squad capable of delivering the latter.

I do think he was unfortunate with injuries, indiscipline and suspensions. However, I don't think he has a clue what his best team, style or system is. Rather than picking his favoured XI and sticking with it, he appeared to chop and change in the hope of "stumbling" on a winning formula...

I mean, we signed Issac Price signed in January and I still have no idea what his position is. I've seen him play right back, right wing back, on the right wing, as an orthodox midfielder, in a free role and up top. I think that just about sums up Mowbray's experimentation in his time here...

While some of the experiments - like John Swift as a deep lying playmaker - could have worked, he never gave them enough time.

And when he dropped Adam Armstong, a player who he has signed 3 times, that confirmed he was not picking his favoured team. He was being influenced by the moans and groans around the stadium and when that happens, it usually means time is up.

So I think it was a good decision.

All that said, whoever comes in next has a hell of a job on their hands...

We don't have a good squad now and it'll be even weaker come June.

I assume we will have to sell to buy and I don't think our 2 sellable assets, Fellows and Maja, will have the same value they had in January.

And even if they do, we'll need to scout a hell of a lot better than we did last year.

For the past few years I've worried the dark days could return. Today, that fear is back. It might well be a relegation scrap next year.

Not posted here for a long time because? Well because I have more important things to do than watch the titanic go down for the umpteenth time and that quite frankly is what we’ve done yet again. I was about to post here tnite following the shameful performance against a team that seems to delight in putting the knife in for example playoff 2005 Sad derby are awful they are so awful it’s just insulting we lost this today to one of footballs most uninspiring woefully dreadful football teams so with that in mind before I started to type this I thought to myself they may as well dump Mowbray right now and see if Chris brunt or whoever can turn the last two games around and then Ef me I see TM has indeed actually been sacked. We are a joke and I suspect shilen Patel must be thinking of dropping this sorry ass footballing black hole into the bargain basement sale of clown ball. Get some pride wba football or go into liquidation and save us all from the bs you constantly serve up Sad

I’m currently in València and watched Corberan’s team play tonight at the Mestalla. Obviously they have a much stronger squad than we have but what I saw showed the merits of his style. Mowbray shouldn’t have tried to change so much so quickly. Corberan’s style, while having its flaws, had been ingrained so much into the squad. Mowbray should have been more pragmatic and done it slowly throughout the months and then gone hell for leather in preseason.

I hope we're going to appoint a new manager before the season ends. No more repeats of waiting until all the better options have found jobs. Let's be at the front of the queue.

Should have gone for Robbins before he joined stoke, his performances since January would have us promoted.
Having said that, his results have been achieved with different players, would he, could he have achieved the same with our current squad.
People try to compare managers, including me, and superimpose their results onto their own teams and yet no two teams are alike, different skill sets, different mind sets, different reactions to training methods and styles.
Let’s hope who ever gets the chalice, doesn’t get the poison and the stars all align and once again Albion fly. We all want Albion to be the best they can be and to compete for trophies, 57 years since success, 58 by the next time we could appear in a final.

Robbins win ration with Stoke is 33% against 29% for Mowbray at the Albion. Whilst clearly better than TM's, I'm not sure that gets us promoted. It would get us into the play offs but no guarantee after that. I was never particularly sold on Robbins as our manager although recognise he was unfairly treated at Coventry. Having said that, Lampard has done an outstanding job there, despite most of us thinking it would all end in unmitigated failure.
I also see there is some speculation regarding Gerrard. My initial reaction is "absolutely not" but could this be another Lampard situation? Who knows!
