Hello everyone

Been a guest on here for ages, now taking the plunge.Thought this thread would be a good
place to start.

Black country born and bread, parents god bless them, Mum was born in Wednesbury, Dad born in Darlaston. We lived in Bentley went to school in Darlaston you where either Albion or Wolves Due to to Dads job moved to East Anglia in late sixties. Was born a baggie Dad Grandads and Uncles all baggies. Now in my sixties with retirement approaching in a couple of years, and always a baggie they have given me endless broken hearts but loads of memories too. More to come I hope.

Went to my first game late fifties and yes did get carried over shoulders in those days to sit on the wall in the brummie road. The first vivid memory was the team of Bobby Robson,Don Howe Derek Kevan Davie Burnside Tony Miilington in goal.

Favourite sides- Cup sides of the sixties March 66 league cup final v west Ham what a night first time I saw them win anything. Then late 70,s early 80,s

Favourite player- So many but with my old Grandad on this one Bobby Hope, has Grandad used to say he could place the ball on a tanner from a pass one end to the other. If he wor playing well the whole team ay playing well.

Used to be the travel secretary for the London branch late 70,s early 80,s never missed a Saturday match home or away from sleepy Suffolk. Dont get up much these days try to fit a few games in during the season. Hoping Ipswich get promoted as they are on the doorstep, looks like they are blowing up now though, unless the dreaded happens dont want to think about that.

Well that,s me in.

Now you mention it Suffolk, I bet there are a few so called southerners hoping Bournemouth will go up for them to see us, and the less than great teams. Southampton and Bournemouth eh, the mind boggles.

On-loan striker Jordy Hiwula believes his spell at League One Walsall will help him develop into a better player.

The 20-year-old, on a one-month deal from Manchester City, scored on his Saddlers debut in their 2-0 win at Doncaster on Saturday.

"Walsall have players from bigger clubs learning their trade here and I felt I would get to learn my trade and get better," Hiwula told BBC WM 95.6. "I want to play well, score goals and keep my place in the team."

Some of us did not want Walsall to do well in the Northern area final ?
Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?

Never really happened for Walsall today; too wasteful in front of goal, Bristol City were the better side and punished them when their chances came. Hope the Saddlers have enjoyed the day out though.

I went to cheer on our neighbours, it was a great day out and the Walsall fans did the Black Country proud. Shame they never really got going in the match. Very predictable in the final third and they couldn't deal with Bristol's pacey attack. Very impressed with Luke Freeman for Bristol I think they only got him in the summer but bossed the match. Only 23, played attacking midfield worth a punt for a premier league team methinks.
