Wigan Athletic have signed Arsenal defender Josh Robinson on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

The 20-year-old did not make an appearance for Arsenal's senior side, but was an unused substitute in four Champions League games this season.

He did play three EFL Trophy games for their under-21s this season and scored in a 2-1 victory at Leyton Orient.

"Moving here was a significant decision for him, but Josh is both excited and motivated about our vision for the club in the coming seasons," said Wigan manager Shaun Maloney.

"It's a very big club, and I am looking forward to seeing what the season holds. I just want to hit the ground running," Robinson said.
