WBA Transfer Window - Final Day

Anyone who can score a hat-trick of headers has to have something about him. They weren't just nod-ins, either.

We have been struggling to get transfers completed for a few years ........ we can not afford to loose our first team players, unless we have suitable replacements in first.

I like DoRonRon, the last few seasons we have not been an attacking force, not creating numerous regular chances for him to convert, he has very little support often up front alone, he can score at this level. If you have little support or protection, no team mates to distract defenders, then chances are harder and become more rushed leading to more misses, vicious circle, it affects morale and confidence. This has been the case with several of our recent strikers, we then sell and they score elsewhere. Give him a chance to play with Jay Rod. Could be potent combo.

The Rondon to Barcelona link is very lazy journalism unless the new Barca coach is an absolute nutter. We all know that Barca have no space in their ranks for big, bustling, bruisers. They already have Munir and Paco who can't get a game, so this is a non starter.

West Ham link sounds more likely though. Like us, they are a direct, physically imposing side.

Personally I'd be happy to see Rondon go for the right money but it would have to be enough to sign a replacement and strengthen the rest of the side. Would rather not see him go to a rival though.

Twitter suggests tonight that we have shutdown interest in Jason Lowe and are in the chase for both Bruno Martins Indi (depsite Palace seemingly agreed terms) plus Jack Wilshire.

If the papers come up with articles on this over the weekend I am sure either Beefy or I will post a link.

To be honest, I was surprised we were notlinked with Wilshire before - IMO, he screams of the type Pulis would go for. British, big name, looking to rebuild his career. At Stoke, he tended to like one like this with a couple of big protectors behind him.

Martins Indi is an interesting one - decent ball players who did okay for Stoke but didn't look dominant enough to be a Pulis type. Could he be picking him up to play left back? I seem to remember him there earlier in his career. Or perhaps looking to play with 3 at the back.

EXCLUSIVE | Al Ahly agree loan deal with West Bromwich for Ahmed Hegazi

Cairo giants Al Ahly have agreed a deal that will see Egypt international set sail to the English Premier League.

Al Ahly have given the go ahead to finalise the transfer of Ahmed Hegazi to English club West Bromwich Albion on a one-year loan with option to buy, KingFut can confirm.
West Brom are set to pay a loan fee in the region of €1 million to acquire the center-back’s services for one year, having the option to buy the central defender for €4 million.

KingFut had previously revealed that the player was courted by Hull City as well as the Baggies but it appears now that Tony Pulis has finally gotten his man.
Moreover, Saudi Arabian outfits Al Ahli were thought to be after the Red Devils star following the recent change in regulations of the Saudi Professional League, enabling clubs to sign two extra foreign players.

Hegazi, 26, joined Fiorentina from Ismaily in the summer of 2012 spending three years in Italy, including a loan stint at Serie B outfits Perugia before mutually terminating his contract to join Africa’s biggest club Al Ahly.
It is worth mentioning that Hegazi made CAF’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Team of the Tournament as he helped Egypt reach the final.

Hegazi will become the fourth Egypt international plying his trade in the Premier League along with Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny, Stoke City’s Ramadan Sobhy & Liverpool newboy Mohamed Salah.
