He's only got 6 months until he can sign for Rangers for nothing, so his value has depreciated since then. £175k seems a good opening bid, let's see where it goes from here.

Hibs are making a bit too much noise about this if they are entirely confident that they can afford to hold on to him.

Trus, they cannae afford no' tae hold on tae him or a' the good work the board has done in the last 12 months will go up in smoke

hibs wid lose a lot mair than 175,000 if he went tae your lot
Fair points, PH.

If they hold onto him and he's not happy about it, I can see him not getting much of a look in for Hibs this season, especially if his temperament is not right, as I have suspected for a while now.

Would keeping him still be worth it then? It's a gamble either way.

And for the record - I'm still far from convinced that he's the right player for Rangers. Far too often last season his head went down and he chucked it in important games. That's not an attitude that will be tolerated at Rangers any more.

Edit: STV reporting Rangers have put a second bid in - £250k this time.

hibs wid lose a lot mair than 175,000 if he went tae your lot. What I really dinnae get is a club makes a bid, the player says he's happy where he is, the players club says any other bids are unwelcome, somehow the press find out that another bid has been made by same club. how dae they get away wi' that. is that no' tapping up
There's conflicting stories gojng around saying he wants to go to Rangers and others saying he wants to stay at hibs, well know if hibs accept any bid were he wants to ne
Can't be 'tapping up', they're going through the correct channels.

They obviously don't believe he's as happy at Hibs as Hibs say he is. A quick look on his twitter feed will tell anyone the same. #HandItIn

Hibs don't have to accept - you do realise this? (They will though - if the price is right.) Wink
400 grand would do the trick Trus, Supporters always bump their gums re a player leaving. But the club have to do what's financially right for them. Had more of their fans bought season tickets, then this wouldn't be an issue for them.
I suspect you're right coops - £400k would tip them over the edge though. The Hibs board, then the Hibs fans! Big Grin

Maybe even a £250k fee with a sizeable sell-on clause would do it. After all, they think he's good enough to play in the EPL, so he'll bound to be sold on at a premium. . . Whistle

What even me?

Still, nice of you to stand tall.

We'll keep bidding until they say yes or the manager thinks he can sign better for the same money elsewhere.
Even you worthless.

When you make a mistake you have to hold yer hands up.
