Ronaldo is easily the best player in the world. Messi comes nowhere near him. He single handedly drags Portugal through qualifying and into tournaments surrounded by shite whilst Messi has all the best tools available to him in the Argentine squad and fails time after time at international level. And I'd rather have Ronaldo at club level too. Their records are much the same but Ronaldo puts in much more of a shift than Messi ever does.
and complicated

I wouldn't turn either down but I have always preferred Ronaldo. He is a game changer time and again, and as you say he invariably does it on his own. Messi has been surrounded by better players at both club and country level than Ronaldo througout his career, and while he is still exceptional he isn't the influence that Ronaldo is. For a relatively mediocre Real Madrid (by their standards) to lift 3 EC on the trot and for Portugal to consistently progress in tournaments is almost solely down to him.

VAR been used a couple of times for penalties and both looked like the correct decision to me. Two missed pens today, so correct decision on the call via VAR but poor by the players taking the pens!!

Wall to wall WC for me. Denmark v Peru was a good game, both teams attacking and trying to win it, penalty miss by Peru and one class move by Denmark enough to win it.
