Albion's dynamic collection of "strikers" (Rondon, Anichebe and Lambert) have managed, by my reckoning, 5 league goals this season, one a penalty - even Lambert's against WHU may have been credited as an own goal. Meanwhile, Charlie Austin goes to Southampton for £4million, a team that walked all over us today without him and could have scored far more than the three they managed. Still, we don't need Austin, not when we have the Salomon, Vic and Rickie to terrify defences. No doubt we are lining up a 35 year old Sampdoria reserve number 9, who won an Italian under 21 cap in 2000, has scored two goals in 23 appearances this season and has the turning circle of an oil tanker. Villa next week, it doesn't bear thinking about.

Always a difficult fixture at Southampton and I thought we'd struggle, but did have a sneaky feeling we'd get a draw!!!. Well got that wrong.
Not gonna blame TP, actually thought he put out a decent side, guess sometimes it's just not your day as a manager. I haven't seen the game just listened to the various pundits and commentators, and sounds like we just didn't turn up with anichibe being anonymous, myhill at fault for first goal, Dawson clumsy.
So all in all pretty poor from the players.
TP does need support in the transfer window, (already missed out on Austin) but we'll be okay, especially after nailing another nail in the vile coffin next week.

Embarrassing that we`re still relying on old farts like McAuley,Olsson,Brunt, and Morrison to keep us in the Premier League,
Jeremy Peace needs to get his head out his arse and start backing his manager in this transfer window or his wish of been
that mid table Championship side may come true.

I don't understand why Pulis gets credit when we win but is immune from criticism when we lose.
This game was just reverting back to type, despite us playing (relatively) entertaining, attacking football and getting good results in the last three league games.

Rather worrying that I'm hearing about 3 guaranteed points next week.
Watched a different Villa yesterday on TV getting their act together finally, just in time to play us...

villa will beat us I guarantee it. In recent years we've had some good results against them finally after years of torment and teasing from my mostly villa family. This game however is now looking like those horrible fixtures against them last year when Timmy tim tim got them fired up against us twice Plus we've lost fletcher at a crucial time. he was my MOM against chelsea. He made that goal for Gardner by persistence. He stole the ball off a chelsea player who had possession of it and prodded it into Gardner.
He's worked so hard and its pretty obvious to me that him and Evans have that extra quality and knowledge of the game that you'd expect from ex Man U players. I watched the Villa Leicester game last night and believe me they're starting to believe and fight while mostly ineffective up front against Leicester In the second half they kept going at leicester and got their equaliser. If they play like that against us? like I said at the start of this blog plus with our record against teams int the lower half. I'm chalking this one off

He's not immune to criticism from me.
Parking the bus was the tactic we went with and that plan went out of the window very quickly. Great free kick from Ward-Prowse and Myhill was beaten all ends up.
You have to give Southampton credit for their performance though as it'd be unfair to just say it was down to Pulis setting us up wrong or the players not playing well. Southampton to a man battered us from the first whistle and deserved the result.
Wanyama especially had a tremendous game and it's no surprise he had other clubs in for him in the summer. This is the type of player we desperately need in our side.

Do you go up the Albion RTE? or do you listen on the radio or watch the highlights on MOTD because these 'Old farts' have been playing really well.
Morrison is probably our best 'footballer', McAuley is a great centre half and very steady, Olsson well fair play because I thought he'd had his day but since getting back into the team he has done really well. As for Brunt, well I'm his biggest critic BUT again he has had a very good season.
TP's signings have not been too clever, Chester £8m our most expensive defender EVER, he can't get a look in, McManaman can't get into the team and yet when he comes on he either provides the crosses for the goal or gets a Penalty. TP spent £12m here another £12m on Rondon and you have a go at the Chairman?
Gamboa had an outstanding World Cup, doesn't get a game?? Pocognoli, what exactly has he done wrong? Gets up and down, can tackle, can cross a good ball, can't get a game either?
You obviously have your opinion but I totally disagree with this particular one. Would you trust TP with your money? I doubt that very much.

Agree with WorldClass. Olsson, McAuley, Brunt and Morrison are among our best performers this season, and the chairman has backed TP extremely well in the transfer market.
