Boro, Bristol and Coventry all losing and we turn in another shocker at home!!!
I can not disagree more with the ‘keep TM brigade’. Huge mistake in him coming back, some of his post match comments are nothing short of delusional. He is NOT the manager to take us forward.
I agree that the players have underperformed but surely it’s his job to get them playing and at least put the opposition under some pressure. We are not even hard to beat which we were that at least under CC. Same players just different coach.

Today's selection and performance was a real shocker. There have been some p*ss poor performances lately, but this really takes the cake.
I appreciate it felt like the playoffs were gone after the Coventry game. They probably were. But surely you don't experiment with selections while it's still mathematically possible and especially when your rivals are facing tough away games against relegation candidates.
Diakite and Diangana as the midfield duo? I don't recall Diangana playing that deep in his career ever.
The subs took far too long and when they were made, felt like they were pulled out of a hat...
Was expecting Mowatt to come on at half time to restore some normality to the midfield. Was gobsmacked that he wasn't even in the first batch of subs.
Didn't even know Lankshear was playing, yet he didn't make way until the 65th minute.
And this is the problem with the constant chopping and changing. If you pick your best XI every game, yes, they can have a crap game and you can lose. But would our best XI with everyone playing in their proper positions ever be as bad as today? I personally don't think so.
Not sure what to say after that. In my previous posts I gave Mowbray the benefit of the doubt... But after today, I'm not sure I can. I appreciate he wanted to stick extra attacking players in to put out an exciting performance, but you need balance. We're not good enough to be that open.
I maintain that our squad is vastly short of quality, heart, winning mentality and legs. But even so, I think we're way better than that. It feels like the pressure is too much for Mowbray and he's trying far too hard to put out a "footballing" team following his first spell. We would probably be better equipped with a more pragmatic manager who can get more out of less.

I’ve been a strong Mowbray supporter and have given him plenty of “benefits of the doubt” but I must confess I’m struggling to continue that line. This season is petering out into a complete shambles. I can only see us losing the last two games against teams desperate for points (we take it as read that we’ll lose the away game). It looks like we’ll finish around 13th, piss poor.

Every result went in our favour, except ours, if we had bothered to turn up, put in a shift, got a result, we would be back in the hunt, especially as boro have to play Coventry last game. Instead, a half hearted, no spirit, limp, heads on the beach performance which has now put the final nail in the hopes of honest hardworking baggies fans who would have put in more effort and probably got the same result as these half witted failures. Strong words, harsh maybe, but I have given up hope on this squad being able to achieve anything.
Another year in the championship and without a major change in leadership and playing staff a relegation battle next year. Made strides forward with CC but now are back in the position we were left in when Bruce left.
Albion til I die.

I’m sure it’s the right decision but I’m bitterly disappointed it didn’t work out. I have the utmost respect for TM, not just as a coach but also as a thoroughly outstanding human being. I wish him the absolute best in whatever comes next in his career but, more importantly, in regard to his future health. A truly great bloke

Such a shame it's ended like this.
Probably no other option, but I hope we manage to appoint someone who's going to make a (good) difference.

I like Tony, however I did not want him back, I feared this would happen. Will always be grateful for the title in 2008 but I can’t think of any returning manager that has been a success for us.
We had a good chance of the playoffs when he came in, he failed to find his best team, did not build a team or get the squad to gel. He suffered lots of injuries but also oversaw a deterioration in discipline. No red cards for two thirds of the season then four in a few weeks didn’t help the cause.
Good luck Tony and goodbye

I assume there is a break out clause and any further it would have been crazy compensation.
I also assume that the new manager options are well developed.
Crazy to assume when talking about West Brom. But in theory a new manager will have lots of time to discuss squad requirements and be involved across the summer.
Queue a decision in September.

I’m guessing we all remember the unsuccessful returns of Giles and Atkinson
