The forward is Burton's 16th summer signing since the Sweden-based Nordic Football Group's takeover of the League One club in early June.

Burton Albion have made two late deadline-day loan signings by bringing in Birmingham City attacking midfielder Romelle Donovan and Chelsea striker Ronnie Stutter.

Donovan, 17, made 10 Blues appearances last season following his debut against Hull City in October - in former boss Wayne Rooney's first home game in charge.

He was part of the Blues under-21s team which reached the Professional Development League National Final in 2021.

He joins a Burton side managed by former Chelsea development coach Mark Robinson who have made an indifferent start to the season, picking up two points from their first three games.

Stutter, 19, is yet to make a Chelsea first-team appearance but played under Robinson for the under-21s.

He is the Brewers' 20th summer signing since the Sweden-based Nordic Football Group's takeover of the League One club in early June.

Burton have also announced that Jasper Moon has completed a season-long loan move to League Two side Harrogate Town and that they have parted company with former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Rekeem Harper.

The 24-year-old, who made 34 appearances after joining from Ipswich Town last summer, has come to a mutual agreement with the club to be released from his contract.

Burton are away to Northampton Town on Saturday.

League One bottom side Burton Albion have signed Burnley left-back Owen Dodgson on loan for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old is the first signing made by Brewers boss Gary Bowyer, who took the helm at the Pirelli Stadium in December.

Dodgson - a former Manchester United youth player, who joined Burnley in November 2020 - has had previous loan spells with Barnsley and Rochdale, as well as Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.

"I spoke to the gaffer and we had some very positive conversations, so now I'm just really excited to join and give my all for the club," Dodgson told the Brewers' website.

Burton Albion have signed former Iceland international striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson on a short-term deal after he was released by League One rivals Wrexham.

Bodvarsson failed to score for the Welsh club in his short time with them, but managed 25 goals across two-and-a-half seasons with League One side Bolton before this term.

"We can't wait for him to get going because he's going to be such a valuable player for us," Burton head coach Gary Bowyer told the club website.

Burton Albion have signed Wrexham midfielder James Jones in a permanent deal and forward Fabio Tavares on loan from Coventry City.

Jones has agreed an 18-month contract at the Pirelli Stadium after scoring 16 goals in 138 appearances for the Red Dragons.

"The team has great momentum at the minute so hopefully we can carry that on to keep us safe, then we can push on together next year," he said.

Tavares has played 30 games for Coventry but only two this season, and has only made five starts.

Burton are still in the League One relegation places ahead of Saturday's game at Barnsley but have been in excellent form of late under Gary Bowyer, winning their last three and scoring nine goals in the process.

On the signing of 28-year-old Jones, Bowyer said: "When I spoke to him he was excited and wanted to come and join us, (and) he also brings a winning mentality into the group having had back-to-back promotions with Wrexham."

The arrival of Jones and Tavares follows the signings of full-back Owen Dodgson, midfielder JJ McKiernan and forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson earlier this month.

Sporting director Hareide steps down
Meanwhile, Bendik Hareide has stepped down from the Burton board and resigned his job as sporting director of the Nordic Football Group.

He had been on leave of absence since November for personal reasons concerning his daughter and said he was not able to give "full focus and 100% commitment" in the current circumstances.

"Bendik was with us at the start of our journey with Burton Albion last year and we have experienced a lot in this short time, particularly during our first summer where he led on overhauling the entire coaching and playing squad," said deputy chairman Tom Davidson.

"Due to his personal circumstances, we have agreed that now is the right time for Bendik to step away permanently so he can continue to give his full focus to his daughter and family without any distractions."
