I can’t wait for end of season and what will come.
New owners or not there needs to be a total rebuild. New players and new hero’s.
No passion and no urgency.
There are a few quality players we should keep but will they want to stay- the whole bag of sh1t is up for review.
In a strange way. Exciting.

Well that's two teams who do not deserve to be in the premier league.
I just can not see where our next goal is coming from. Absolutely no threat going forward.

Jeez, if 90 minutes summed up why will be relegated, that was it. Absolutely wretched, not a spark of creativity, we don’t create anything. We had so much possession in their final third and never looked like creating anything, let alone score. Pereira was awful, our only hope tends to come from set pieces and yet our crossing was indescribable. I said to my son that this would be a good Championship game; I need to revise that as that would be an insult to Brentford, Norwich and Swansea. Embarrassing!

Well, the commentators and pundits have been pretty scathing of the game as a whole, and both teams, but personally I thought we looked 500% better than we did a month ago, and were by far the better team. I actually enjoyed the game for a change!
Peirera was yet again off the money - if only he has 10% of Gallagher's commitment and energy....why oh why didn't The Snod get at least the last half hour??
IMO we looked pretty good all round and should've been at least 2 goals clear at the end. Very disappointed with the single point but I'd be hard pressed to have a go at any of our players (apart from P. as above).

Drewks - you are right of course. But sadly we needed to be like this at the beginning of the season.
P has not been the same since he secured a contract and Grant was a huge waste of money.
Connor is brilliant as is Okay.
If we had 15+ games to go I’d be positive but this is a step up too late.
Maybe having BS in charge next season would be acceptable but he has to find a couple of young natural strikers so we actual have a purpose in getting in the final part of the pitch.

It must be time now to start shaping the team for next season in the EFL. Pereira needs to be dropped to the bench. A few of our youngsters should now be introduced into the firing line. A clear decision on Sam now, if he's staying fair enough if not get our new manager in now. Let's get prepared early for next season.

Yokuslu and Maitland-Niles have given us a huge boost defensively and as a result, our defence doesn't look half bad.
The former is exactly what you want from a midfielder IMO. Combative, calm on the ball, always plays to his colleague's best foot. Simple stuff that we're desperately short of. He's our best player by a million miles game in and game out.
Had we had him all season, maybe we'd be in a position to accept drawing a blank against a side who come with the intention of simply shutting up shop... But we've found ourselves desperate, so we really needed that Phillips chance to go in...
Unfortunately, going forward we're still largely reliant on what we had last season. While Gallagher is always looking drive forward while Daigne is a good focal point, the "creatives" aren't imposing themselves on the game at all. Our full backs often find themselves as the spare men and lack quality. In Phillips and Pereira we have two players don't really have the pace to influence the game. Phillips tried hard, but the days of him beating his full back are long gone. Pereira slows the game down and looks ponderous. Personally I'm sick of watching him, I'd rather watch players who look interested and he doesn't...
Grant came on and his first touch to control the ball was to loft it head height. Just about sums up the quality we invested in. Lord help us next season.
And that's the scary thing for me, our only proper players are the loanees brought in Big Sam. What we're left with at the end of the season is a bunch of half arsed, carefree players. The one player who has developed massively under Sam - Kyle Bartley - will be off on a free if I remember rightly. All we're going to be left with is a bunch of half arsed players who don't have a 2nd gear. While they might light the Championship up, I have my doubts based on what we saw at the end of last season.
I can see freefall coming, unless someone takes over with a few quid...

It’s interesting how we view a game differently
I have no issue with the effort from the players but that’s about the sum total of that performance. I honestly think that was the worst home performance under Allardyce and, yes, I haven’t forgotten Villa, Leeds and Arsenal. Those were teams that had attacking players with attacking intent and who were vastly superior to our eleven. Today, Newcastle were missing their 3 most influential out players (it would have been a different game had they been playing I reckon), so they came not to lose and, if possible, catch us on the break. Despite that, and the expected amount of possession we had, we created bugger all, just a couple of half chances - chances that a team with some semblance of attacking ability might have converted but we don’t have that. All the effort and possession in the world is only useful if you do something with it and we didn’t. This had 0-0 written over it after about 10 minutes. Allardyce has undoubtedly improved the defence and Yokuslu is the defensive midfielder we have needed all season but he has done nothing to improve us as an attacking threat.
We have all been critical of Grant - and justifiably- but if Diagne is the answer then what’s the question? Let’s be honest , for all his physical presence, he’s in the team to score goals. He’s managed 1, been offside countless times and missed a good few sitters. I can’t help thinking that we have acquired the Senegalese Joelinton - on today’s showing, I’d take the latter.
If others can take positives from today, then great. For me, it was a shitshow against a team as bad as us and who came looking not to lose

No matter what your view on this game the outcome is almost inevitable relegation.
With that comes the departure of loan players and the sale of any decent players - Johnstone, Bartley I guess at least.
We were defensively more sound so maybe 10 games and 10 draws is the same as 3 wins and we might over take Newcastle and Fulham. But really grasping at straws with that.
We will rebuild but sadly in true Albion style we won’t approach it with conviction and we will just have a last minute late summer panic buy after the season has started in order to have a full squad and then we will fumble our way to a play off position.
Sorry it is that time of the season and as (almost) always I am saddened and hate my Uncle for taking me to see Coventry v West Brom back in the mid sixties.

Ah but Stairs, your uncle also gave you the chance to see The King, Bomber, Cyrille, Laurie, Derek Statham, Trigger, Zoltan, Superkev and countless others who have made supporting the Baggies. There has been countless dross as well but I’ve blanked those out. Good days will come again, although we may have to be patient
