Its far worse in terms of those requiring hospitalisation and in terms of the percentage that it kills. The seasonal flu kills about 0.1% of those who get it, this one is running at between 3-5% although that number is evolving. I also think the strain this puts on healthcare is so much greater, its only a matter of time before healthcare workers start getting ill, at least with the seasonal flu there is a flu shot they can get, with this there is no protection for them via medicine.

Until recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated the annual mortality burden of influenza to be 250 000 to 500 000 all-cause deaths globally; however, a 2017 study indicated a substantially higher mortality burden, at 290 000-650 000 influenza-associated deaths from respiratory causes alone, and a 2019 study estimated 99 000-200 000 deaths from lower respiratory tract infections directly caused by influenza.

US numbers estimate 22,000 - 55,000 this winter (which has been one of worst flu virus's for a long time) and around 35,000 in the USA over the 2018-19 winter.

We're yet to find out if Covid-19 is seasonal or not.

We're all still in with a shout with the World Snooker, apart from Amelia, who's David Gilbert went out in the first round.

Champions League, nobody went for Chelsea. Laugh

But a few put Liverpool and they went out months ago. Whistle
