Several gins are usually good for sleep, or is that for slurring my words and falling over? I get so confused.
Sports forums shouldn't be dangerous places for women. You've done a great job with this site ...... but there is much more to do, not the least of which is broadening its appeal ..... so that women (or other forum minorities) never end up feeling as you do. Please stay.
Gender, race, sexuality etc. shouldn't be relevant behind a keyboard, but because they are, and for that very reason, I'm open that I'm a gay man. Women can know about football, have opinions, play the game .... organise websites, moderate idiots etc. Gay men can too. I was a good footballer, played both codes of rugby well and a fair cricketer for a start. I'm not Kenneth Williams and I bet you're not Martina Navratilova just because you love sport. But given half a chance we'd be stereotyped .....
Look at it this way, at least you didn't have to come out that you were a woman. It took me until I was 39 to come out and my mum reciprocated by telling me the budgie escaped when I was 9 and she replaced it with an identical green one. We love you and respect you and worst of all we need you not to leave.
Anyone who quotes Miss Davis, and I think you'll find this is actually a law, can't leave unless it is agreed by 75% of the membership in a secret ballot. So you're stuck with us. I'm not sure I'm helping you sleep .......
Can't we just beat the shit out of them like real football fans? I categorically did not say that!

Lol and bravo, devon, that's a fantastic rousing speech. How can I refuse? I prefer a malt whiskey to gin but I don't imbibe very often. Perhaps I should! You're all the best. When you're getting a bit of stick somewhere, you tend to forget that there are many more who are on your side. Up the revolution!

I meant it at the time but it has just turned into one of my famous hissy fits. One of these days you'll see the back of me.
We had a trip to Pizza Hut at teatime and, after a veggie thin crust and cookie dough dessert, everything seemed OK again.

It doesn't matter if your a man, woman, gay, bi, straight, black or white we are all humans and should be treated equally and we are all here because we have something in common we all love football and sport.

As someone who can hissy-fit with the best of them I'm glad that's all it turned out to be in the end.
BUT can I just say that when things like this happen, which they inevitably will occasionally, better even than someone somewhere moderating them is simply to share what is happening with friends. If Amelia didn't know it before she has lots of friends. There are knuckle-draggers and trolls around, but there are also great listeners, counsellors, white knights and potential heroes who won't just stand on the sidelines.
There's a big difference between a bit of stick and being water-boarded.

For the most part I counted the said wendies as my friends but no more. I'm sticking with the terriers, hibees, spireites and baggies! Not forgetting the maclad from Preston both ends. We need to get him some more fans on there.
Oh and we had better beat the wendies on Saturday. It's now more important than beating Leeds.
I like you, Devon, you talk sense.

i'm glad you're staying Am and i understand your frustration, i myself have severely reduced my time online as i found myself taking way too seriously what perfect strangers were saying over the internet , sometimes you just need a break from all the crazy that people spout online
honestly the only thing thats kept me on the forums is i promised to di a few match threads and running the players for pounds again
i am always amazed that those who constantly shout "free Speech" are often doing so in order to drown out the speech of others , and if there is one thing i cannot stand its hypocrites
the other thing is rules, every website has rules, the people who created the website are well withing there rights to create any rules they like, i personally dont have any problem with bad language or nudity , but i understand that this is a SPORT forum, and sport should be for everyone and we should all make an effort to encourage that, there is also the possibility that children could be using this site so i try to moderate my language and behavior.
bottom line if you dont like the rules , feel free to leave and create your own website where you can do what you want. if you're going to stay OBEY THE RULES
rant over
