Compared to Saturday’s 7-1, this performance is dreadful !
Why on earth substitute Barnes!!!! He’s one of the few performing.
That Howson looks a good player
We deserved that

Game changed as soon as Barnes went off.
As for the goal, it was a handball. Ref has been poor this half.

Poor performance overall tonight.
Second half was decent up until Barnes was strangely taken off just as he was getting the beating of Shotton.
I’m not convinced by the 3412 formation. Sloppy defensively and too static in possession. I think we need to go back to a back four with Dawson at right back. Then either 231 or 141 in front of the defence.

That was dreadful, deserved nothing. We are so pedantic in midfield, Brunt and Livermore are awful, they offer nothing. Why he replaced Barnes with Morrison instead of taking off Brunt is mystifying. I know Dawson messed up for the goal but the sooner he replaces Heghazi the better. Our defending is poor. It’s ok putting 7 past a wretched QPR but against a resolute and decent Boro, we were pretty clueless. Sorry Darren, but you’ve got it all wrong in midfield

Poor game which neither team deserved to win. In the end, Middlesborough got the lucky goal.
The worry for me is there are going to be tough games like that where we can't put much together, but we don't seem capable of grinding out a point. A draw would've been okay, but we simply can't defend. It rolls on from last season.
The goal is a handball, but what is Hegazi doing waiting for the ball and letting the player get in front of him? Liability.
Some of the senior players look well past their best. Rodriguez couldn't trap a bag of sand and can't pass, Gibbs should be the best full back in the division by a mile but has turned ridiculously average, Brunt and Mozza are gone IMO. We are desperate for someone to operate box to box next to Livermore in the centre of the park.
Barnes looked the stand out performer again and don't really know why he was took off. Gayle or Rodriguez would've made sense as both were poor today. Or he could've took both off for Mozza and Kanu and changed the system. To make something happen, we needed Barnes.
Overall very poor, we're going to miss out on the playoffs if we keep performing like that.

Ok guys someone reason with me I keep saying the same thing week in week out ........
Moore is a good man manager but tactically inept against the better teams,
I'm no head coach but i can see the same things week in and week out .......
Brunt in center mid was never going to work. Massively lost the midfield battle in the first half, Moore does nothing about it yet again. Dawson for Tosin was a pointless substitution. Morrison for Barnes was a poor substitution. HRK for Gayle was a mind blowing substitution. All the while we've got Burke and Field sitting on the bench. The only game plan was to lump balls up from the back and cross them into the box against 5 giant center backs. Meanwhile Johnny Howson is running rings around Brunt in Midfield,
We've got a top 3 squad and a bottom 3 head coach. Moore needs to learn fast or we need to make a change, because we're finishing mid table at this rate.
FFS get Brunt out of midfield and get some legs in there

Though it says we had 62% of the possession, Pulis' defend and grab a late winner worked as it did for us a number of times.
Moore appears to be inept at what to do to ring the changes.
Why Brunt when there is Field, and why Barnes and not another forward?
Baffled - and thanks Slick for the heads up.

I really didn't want him to come out with this crap

One thing I couldn't agree with from Moore, is he said Albion dominated tonight. Yes they grew into the game after HT, but Boro were the best team in the first half and had the best chances overall

Gotta be honest, Brunt needs to be dropped from the centre mid, Daws needs to play alongside Bartley. Sell Hegazi, walking liability, such a dodgy defender...bring in a rb.
Before anyone says yes Hegazi was weak last season even if one of the better performers, says it all.
Overall Barnes taken off at a strange time. Gayle should've stayed on as he's always likely to get something against a tiring defence and I would've taken Jay off.
I never ever thought I'd say this either, GET BARRY IN THERE!
