BBB nice Idea but far to much to be working out scores twice in one day and having to work out two different set of scores when the others came through at full time  

 Ok I get it - but i/player football gives you final score and half time, so maybe just correct scores for 3pts??

Personally I like the Gamball, it is exactly what it says on the tin, a gamble to play it or not.  The rewards for getting it right are there and the penalty for getting it wrong are as well.  If you wanted to change it, maybe reduce the points for getting it right so that its influence is not so great, maybe go for -4 for incorrect, +6 for correct result and +12 for correct score??  But I would definitely leave it in.

We have spoke about it for the last few weeks between us and we do want to keep it or something similar but not as to penalise better predictors if that makes sense,
Some weeks we have posters getting six or seven correct but finishing say below someone who has just two correct but has played a correct Gamball why the other lost points on it
All suggestions welcome before the start of next season,
We will make a thread and everyone can discuss it and take a vote on which is the best way to go,

That would make it still worth playing the Gamball and not penalize those for getting other score right.

That's a fair idea SCO but still a hefty reward for 1 game - 8 points and a result on bonus gets 10 points other 8 wrong loses 7 with insurance, whereas 8 correct results gets 8 points but a wrong Gamball and bonus takes 6 of them away.
Player with 2 correct prediction scores 3 points for the week while the player with 8 correct predictions only scores 2.
The same scenario in this season would be 13 points to 10 in favour of the correct Gamball. It's just trying to get away from there being such an advantage to get one game right than 7 of the others.

In our SWFC prediction league you get bonus points for the number of games you predict correctly each week. Maybe you could add 4 bonus points for predicting at least 4 correct results and 8 for 4 correct scores outside of the gamball and BB, similar to the try system in rugby where you get bonus points for the number of trys you get. Might make scoring a bit harder though.

Do we need a gamball and a bonus ball, what if we only had the gamball.

To make it a gamble, a correct score / result would win you as many points as an incorrect result would lose you. 50 50 risk .....

Do away with the 16 points for a correct score, if you play the gamball you either get 8 points for a correct result or minus 8 points for an incorrect result. Thus making it a heads or tails decision to play the gamball. Also, rather than a fixed game allow the players to choose which game they play thier gamball on. That brings in an element of skill in predicting the right match .... although that would allow the use of the gamball on dead certs every time ...... any team playing us to win for example.
