The maqjestic Ray Barlow was playing centre-half, and we had Ronnie Allen, Stu Williams, and the Tank all internationals.

Yow'm an ode bugger like me Saft!
It was round about that time or even earlier I first got lifted over the turnstiles to watch the Baggies. Can't remember who we played but I remember walking with my Dad from my Grandmothers who lived in Hope Street.

September 1966, home to Stoke, lost 1-0 to a John Ritchie goal but I was hooked and I never looked back. Friend at school's dad had complimentary tickets to the Halfords. The next home game I went to was vs Manchester United, lost 4-3, David Herd hat-trick for United.

T'other way around Steve;- Smith 2 The Tank 4

But a good result nevertheless. Can you imagine us scoring 6 goals in a game with our 'Tone' in charge?

Silverbaggie thanks for the correction, I had a feeling I got it wrong. As I recall, Johnny Haynes and Tony Macedo were playing for Fulham. The latter was a great goalkeeper who came from either Malta or Gibraltar as I recall

Steve I wonder whether you can remember whether  Bobby Robson was playing for Fulham that day as I know he left us in 1962 to go back to the Club we bought him from. Such a shame and all because the Chairman wouldn't give him a pay rise even tho he was Club Captain and so we lost a truly great player for the sake of a few pounds.

Fast forward 55 years and nothing's changed.   Whistle

Silverbaggie, I can't honestly remember if Bobby Robson was playing for Fulham and, sadly, I didn't keep the programme. However, as he only transferred about one month earlier, I'm assuming he was
