I am very pleased to see us win and go 8th and it does look very promising for a Chadli/Rondon partnership. I know defensively we looked poor but we were attacking more and at 4-2, I am told, we did go 5 across midfield and snuff out the West Ham revival.
I really don't think it makes any difference to TP's future. If the new owners plan to replace him, that will happen regardless of a single result. We will know soon.

Defensively we looked poor because the left back could not cope and West Ham knew it. The situation was eventually corrected on 70 minutes when Galloway was replaced by Nyom. Hopefully that problem won't be repeated.

Disappointing to hear young Galloway was poor and sounds like another wasted loan.
Question to those at the game - when Allan Nyom came on, did he play in his usual right back position or did he slot in at left back ?
I understand we played better defensively when Nyom came on.

Slaven Bilic said on the BBC News website that the penalty was hard to explain because the Albion defender was nowhere near their guy.
Can anyone comment?

Morning All,
As stated in my earlier post, had a feeling there would be goals in this one, and happy to be on the winning end for once.
We are giving young Galloway a rough time, but at least he did not handball twice in a minute to hand us a quick lead.
This act of generosity was just what we needed to give us confidence and them the jitters, but we stuck it up em, and then lost our way a little, but if this is the level of entertainment we can expect this season at the shrine, then more please!
Chadli and Rondon looked good, Mclean can cause any side problems on his day, Evans is immense at the back, Yacob is a constant pain in the ass, and although Galloway was having an extra hole ripped into him, when Antonio and Payet went over to the left , Dawson was none to comfortable with their attention.
As stated above, this win won't really influence the new owners as to TP' future, and it was quite true what TP said after the game, things were done the same way as normal, and the only difference between this week and last at Bournemouth was that we stuck a couple in the net this time, and it gives a totally different outlook to things.
Lets hope this is the norm from now on, and we can stick it to the Stokies next up, 1000 games for TP, and 3 points away would leave us a quarter of the way to survival after 6 games! Whhoo hoo.
Cheers,
Kookiebags.

I'm happy to chime in on this win as well. I was at work yesterday and as always lately tuned in from time to time. was thrilled to see us 1-0 up but concerned that it was still early doors. Then it went 2 3-0 I could hardly believe it but I still had my reservations (anyone remember the hodgson 3-3?) But once we got 4 i thought this surely has to be it. I then stupidly texted my songwriting partner who was due over at my place in the eve to work on songs and i said barring a colossal collapse you will have one happy baggie fan to work with tonight. I'd barely pressed send and 4-1 i thought S*** here it comes and sure enough 4-2 anyone remember the cardiff collapse? Nail chewing commenced and those last 20 minutes felt like waiting for xmas on the 1st of december as a kid. TF we saw this one out. I then watched the game on SS (this new half hour format is a total p*** take I feel like ditching it and saving £45 a month) Its a bit difficult to tell from 12 minutes actual football each half as it looked like we dominated possession but that's coz there were so many goals to show in the miserly time allotted to match choice. However Chadli looks well worth the money and yes the partnership with rondon looks like it could be just what we need most of our goals were scored or created by these two. Hopefully this will continue as i always thought rondon would come good this year (No doubt a good season will result in the moneybags teams trying it on with him once they cotton on) Good to see sado warming the bench what must he be worth now? 25 bob and a pickled egg? You blew it kid. I'm pleased for McClean to a lot of you don't rate him but this guy works his socks off 100% every game and he's a handful for any defence yes we know he's not the most skilful but i'd rather have him starting than the likes of sado. Ditto gardiner also works his socks off. I think if McClean just learnt to look up and pick his passes better he'd be the finished article as a marauding winger. Yacob did what he does best you hardly notice him when suddenly he;s there breaking down their attacks. Galloway is young he will learn but he needs time perhaps experience will be needed and he might lose out especially if Nyom can defend better. Few have mentioned Foster. His save at the 4-2 stage was crucial and better still he held that ball or that could have been a massive blow. So 5 games down won 2 lost 2 drawn 1 7 points and 8th That's not a bad start at all and the goal difference is tidy. Onwards and upwards I hope cos i admit I'd lost faith after the transfer window saga yet again and i think TP was badly let down IMO

Afternoon.
Here's how I saw things yesterday.
Foster. Vital saves at 1-0 and 4-2. The latter particularly good.
Galloway. Struggled when WHU on top. good decision to replace him.
McAuley. Solid.
Evans. Impressive
Dawson. OK, but a little subdued. Didn't seem to get forward much.
Yacob. Did a good job without fuss.
Fletcher. Decent. Great pass for the 4th goal.
McClean. Work-rate and commitment high. Looked focused not angry. Sharp finish.
Chadli. Quality player in possession and distribution.
Phillips. Good, hard working contribution. Needs to add goals to his game.
Rondon. Another hard-working performance. Good strike. Needs continued support from the 3 behind him.
Nyom. Did a good job at a difficult time.
Morrison. Lively 15 minute cameo.
R-Kanu. Only 5 mins. Almost reached a late cross.
Overall, a well deserved 3 points. We took the opportunities that came our way and coped with most of the WHU pressure. There was a wobble at 4-2 - a few passes went astray and we couldn't keep hold of the ball. But we wouldn't want it to be too easy, would we ?
