Optimistic about today. Just hope we don't concede after 20 seconds again.
Shouldn't do. The boys have had plenty of time together now, unlike previous seasons when team building was still on going as the first game got underway.
Only doubt I have is up front. Do we have the firepower to finish off teams? Gonna need more goals from the likes of Lollz and Scanz this season.
Look solid at the back according to reports of the friendlies, but in the Liverpool match, the only one I've seen, we were still doing that suicidal fannying about, which cost us dear in the last Brentford match.
Optimism bubble burst!
Town have lost their last eight opening day fixtures at this level.
Brentford are unbeaten on the opening day since 2010.

Congrats to the Brentford players on Sky Sports News yesterday for making Wagbo's team talk today sooooooo easy. Congrats to Town tho really on a terrific performance and the fans for not going on holiday for once.

Excellent performance by Town, apart from the last 20 mins of the first half when we switched off and let Brentford back into the game. However, overall we were more than worth all three points and I thought Mooy's was MOTM by far. He was commanding and always made himself available and wanted the ball and his physical presence was felt throughout the game.
I thought Brentford goal was a soft one to concede and resulted from a dubious free kick awarded by the Ref, which went through Wards legs.
On a negative note, when are Town going to get some shirt numbers which we the fans can actually see?, although the same could not be of our goalies "Yellowy/Limey coloured outfit.
However, no complaints from the result which was our first opening day win since 1996 in front of around 18,500 fans.
I'm well happy with the outcome and particularly on how we brilliantly saw out the last 10 minutes to secure our much deserved win, which based upon todays performance could see me eating much humble pie before the season is out.
Having said all of the above, I still believe Hudson is lucky to keep his pace in the team.

I'm reliably informed it was Yeovil in 2007, Mirf.
Great game. Great performance. Mooy man of the match. Up to 5th in the table. Things are looking good.

Blind loyalty from Herr Wagner to give Huddy a start, must be a matter of games before he's shipped out to the bench, booked for a rugby tackle.
Atmosphere great, postive support, created 5-6 good first half chances but couldnt hit the target.
Smith who played well all game, thats what pressure for your place does, superb cross and a find header from Kachunga.
A superb response by town to reply almost immediately to their equaliser but being bold charging thru the middle by VLP who did some good stuff, little end product but lively.
Really like Mooy, Payne too bright and busy, Lowe and Shindler excellent additions, keeper did what he had to.
A great first day

I'm here Snoots!!
Get in there!!
Not a perfect performance but a very good and solid one, something to build on. Still some things to work on, not sure we are as solid defensively as the pre-season results will point to, as we did look shakey at times and our finishing was bloody awful, well VLP's and Kachunga's were. Also thought we gave the ball away needlessly at times in key areas which resulted in us giving away silly free kicks which Brentford eventually got themselves an equalizer from other than that, really pleasing, especially how we stormed back to get the winner immediately after Brentford had scored. Surely Hefele has to be a better option than Hudson? He looks like an accident waiting to happen.
Mooy was excellent, Payne excellent impressed with him, Hogg was excellent and despite his dreadful finishing thought VLP had a very good game too, made some good runs and was pivotal in the winner, again, through crap finishing but a great run. We played some decent stuff, pressed well and think we'll get better and better. Think we should have pressed for a 3rd late on instead of fannying about with it in the corner when Brentford looked out on their feet, although some would praise this as good game management. Excellent work rate and attitude from everyone.
Overall really pleasing performance, pleased for the players, pleased for Wagner and pleased for the club and us fans, cracking atmosphere.
