Eh? Mathematically most goals are scored in the second half of games. Tiredness, more chance of sendings off, subs, etc all make it much easier to score in the second half.
If what Cas is saying is right, that Town would be awarding bonuses if we finished one place higher, then the players would have known this, and would be busting a gut to score 2nd half.
This is a nothing decision because nowt relied on the outcome. But let's say that it did.
What would happen if Blackpool needed to win to stay up? Or Town needed it to get in the play offs?
It would have to be replayed. And it would be played with no Blackpool fans there. It's obvious. The FL just didn't want to make that happen because the outcome didn't matter this time.
They just make it up as they go along.

Villa fined £200,000 by FA for pitch invasions v WBA. Can't see FL handing out a fine anywhere close to that amount to Blackpool, but it would put some of the money Oyston has parked to good use if they did.

The decision to let the result stand as was is at best a lazy decision by the FL but at worst an incompetent one too!! The rules for this sort of thing should be laid out in black and white and then enforced!! Blackpool were unable to fulfill the fixture, that has to have consequences!! Having said that I don't think this will lead to mass pitch invasions, that would soon be clamped down on with I would hope punitive punishments!!

How can the FA justify that fine for Villa? If we are to fine clubs for that low level incident then Preston will have to be fined about a million and Blackpool a billion.

As much a reflection of the money available to clubs in the Prima Donna League as anything else I think Snoots. The pitch was invaded by Villa fans twice. Once during the game, then after it. It didn't noticeably affect the result or stop the game being finished. A little more common sense should prevail in the case of FL clubs. There has barely been a Playoff game ending where the pitch hasn't been invaded after the match has finished in the last couple of weeks but mostly there hasn't been the trouble there was at Villa. I doubt many charges will result.

And so to today. A friendly match between Lancaster City and Blackpool has been abandoned due to a pitch invasion.
Time to expel them?
